Yeah. I assume he wasn't gonna sign with Winnipeg so they got what little they could. The reason it's just a 7th is that it's basically like acquiring a player's negotiating rights before free agency. We'll probably see the same thing with Kevin Hayes.

Well, it's likely conditional on whether or not he signs.

Usually players like this end up signing with the team they are traded to because things are vetted prior, but I wouldn't be surprised if they just like him as a player and want a shot at signing him.
