I don't know enough about the individual players to know if its really that great or not, but based on what I'm hearing it sounds like a solid deal, especially considering it is pre-expansion draft and we no longer need to protect Ellis.

The team freed up about 3 mil in cap space, got bigger and younger. The flip of the rights to Patrick is an interesting move but it depends what he's asking for.

I was excited enough when I first saw Ellis for Patrick... to then find out we turned Patrick into Glass. WOW!!!!

Poile still has some magic, he's doing a great job this summer so far!

We don't need Myers to be brilliant; we just need him to be NHL-capable. We've got good guys on the rise anyways with Carrier and Fabbro.

I think it does what we needed. It gets rid of that long term contract, brings in younger players, and from what I can tell opens up a protection slot. It's not blowing the team up but its definitely a retool.

A young #6 overall with size ... still on his ELC. At 22 years old he has time to develop.

High upside, he just turned 22 and was probably a top 5 prospect in the league when he was a prospect.

Always hard to tell with guys like that imo. Is he average because he is just going to be average or is he average because he is just stuck behind Vegas' current centers? I think its a situation that could work out for both Patrick and Glass. Both players could just need a change of scenery.

i dislike it on the personal side because I really like Ellis. I hate seeing guys who have been with us so long go somewhere else (or retire). And we’ve now lost a couple of them this week.

On the other hand I think the Preds are now better off for the long term provided we don’t squander the freed up cap space.

Not true. He is a good defender that will learn. He is still kinda raw and it showed this year but he is great in the neutral zone, has an active stick, and a good skater. He will round out the 2nd pairing for years
