I like the Hossa comparison. Pastrňák, not so much. Pasta was rather smallish as a prospect, there were concerns about his physical play and durability. Kaut is really strong for his age. He's not as flashy as Pastrňák either.
I think he's got a lot of Pastrnak. When he was drafted Pastrnak wasn't as quick or as good of a scorer as he is now, but you could see the underlying skill, smarts and mature confidence with the puck. 2- way player. Right-shot winger. Kaut has those same qualities. Should be a top 10 pick.
I don't know about this. I remember Pastrňák as a flashy little winger who would go one-on-one against anyone on the ice, was oozing with speed and skill but also made a lot of mistakes, was a bit tiny and tactically unrefined. Kaut is a lot more composed, makes very few mistakes and fixes it immediately if he does make one, has no problem with physical play, and is already good to very good at everything he does. And all this against professional players with vast experience. He's a very well-rounded prospect with a low bust potential imo, though probably not as naturally talented as Pastrňák.
