Lol, I said that Toronto doesn't deserve all these events and the insecure fanbase of Toronto starts screaming at me about how much Ottawa sucks when I didn't even mention Ottawa once.

This is exactly why Toronto doesn't deserve these events. I can't wait to see how many jersey's litter the ice during them, I'd make a drinking game out of it but it might be dangerous to my health.

You come into the thread and start blasting the Leafs and you're calling others insecure.

The All Star Game should also be outdoors...Rogers owns a stake in the Maple Leafs and also owns the namesake stadium...so why not there and open the roof?

They would actually break even or possibly make money.

You could almost say the same for the Sens :p:

Bell owns the other half and would probably make a fuss since it would be the "Rogers Centre"

It sounds like a good idea but I'm so freaking tired of outdoor games lol theres already like 3-4 next year and probably the same amount in 2016-2017.

You're right. Ottawa should be the preferred location, given how often they sell out and all. I wonder if Melnyk would try to keep Leaf fans out this time. Nothing that lush does surprises me anymore.

The league wants to make money from this, not end up in the hole. Actually, if they hold it in Ottawa. it should still be Montreal v. Toronto, seeing as there are more of their fans in the seats when either team visits. They should also bring out the Sens Spartan before puck drop, just to add that extra touch of class.

And we're still waiting for Ottawa to win a cup.

Maybe he could couple the game and the fact the city won't give him a casino into a single investigation. Might save him some money.

Ottawa has been one of the top teams for attendance for the last 15 years despite being the 4th smallest market in the league.

And Ottawa has 11 cups. Only two cities have more.

Yea 11 cups that arent even apart of the current teams history and were won a hundred years ago. Sens fans blast Leaf fans for all their cups before the expansion yet go and talk about championships won before the Great Depression. Go figure.

IIRC the habs have the best TV Ratings when you add up the English and French TV Ratings.

Congratulations to Toronto for winning all those championships in a 6 Team league.

And congrats to you for being a fan of the absolute ********* brand of football in the entire world. Even more ****tier than the Leafs (And that's saying something) We have our cross to bare, but you definitely one as well. So instead of throwing stones at our glass house, why don't you look around where you live first.

You are honestly the only person here that blasts people for cups. No one has even mentioned the Leafs cups. You're once again trying to start an argument you're not going to get.

They arent affiliated with the Current Senators.
Better email the NHL then and have them make The Senators take down these banners:

I just think you're getting too technical here

Once again, how was he insulting the Leafs? Why do you constantly look for arguments with Sens fans? Do you have a quota you have to meet per day?

How am I picking a fight? He asked if they were recognized, which I responded with they aren't affiliated with the Current Sens.

You might want to look up the definition of a fight.

You mentioned that Sens fans always blast the Leafs for their cups, when no Sens fan had even mentioned anything about the Leafs cups. It's just one the many unnecessary comments about the Sens you always have a habit of putting into your posts.

There are a few things some people seems to forget.

1) During the 2016-2017 season is when Winnipeg is set to host the Heritage Classic because it got pushed back one season. So is the NHL willing to host the same event twice, I don't think so for this reason. They have not been willing to do that unlike they have for the Stadium Series games which so far have only included teams based in the United States. Next season there are two Stadium Series games scheduled in Colorado and Minnesota, plus last season they had a total of three of them.

2) So far all the teams who previously played in the Winter Classic as the visitors eventually went onto to host it. The only team who can't host it due to these tax break rules is the New York Rangers. So how can NBC tell the Leafs sorry you can't host one when that precedent has already bee established?

3) Once again using the NBC angle and it being their event and them not wanting Toronto playing in the Winter Classic against Montreal, personally I don't care who the Leafs opponent would be. I just want to see them host a Winter Classic that they rightfully deserve. Also I don't just see it as an NBC event. It's just as much as a Rogers event and as of today they are paying more for the national broadcast rights in Canada, compared to the current NBC deal in the United States. I'm also willing to bet come their next TV deal, NBC won't pay as much compared to what Rogers is paying for 12 years.

There we have it folks. A Lot of key points I didn't event think of.

Im sure NYR will get the Winter Classic in 2018, although they should've gotten next years. A game like that in MetLife or Yankee Stadium would be crazy, much better than a stadium series game.

Are the Silver Seven the same franchise?
If not, some of those have to come down.

The Silver Seven was their nickname, due to the team having 7 players and being the first dynasty (silver cup). Do your research, the team was always called the Ottawa Senators, and it's obviously not the same franchise considering they showed up 60 years later. The cups are still Ottawa Senators cups, and there just happens to be a team called the Senators located in Ottawa.

Technically the Rangers can not host a Winter Classic because of a tax break rule they get which says all their home games must be played at Madison Square Garden. That's the reason why they were the visiting team during the Stadium Series games they played at Yankee Stadium against the Devils and Islanders.
