Smyth force his way back but not for pennies on the dollar. We had to take on 6.25 million in cap without getting back a 1st round pick and basically gave LA the space needed to get Carter+Richards and win a Cup.Smyth forced his way back here

Seravalli on Stauffer (Oilers related):
- Jesse trade was good; got rid of contract, didn't retain salary, and got an asset.
- Chychrun: Yotes don't want to take back contract. They've checked in on Parayko and Ekholm. Yotes looking for picks/prospects (combination of first/second and or first round prospects). Ekholm ask is for 2 first round picks; other pieces would be involved to make money work.
- On Parayko: he doesn't know what the ask is; Blues more concerned about money/cap, with him and other players, going forward; looking for an out.
- Preference on order of defenseman Oilers targeting: Chychrun, Ekholm, and Gavrikov.
Yup, ARI should be out of discussions if they can't take money back. Not sure why Holland would have Chychrun as top priority.Man it is insane the coyotes don’t want any money back like you will have a hard time getting your price if you don’t take dollars
True but I’m saying it can happen lolSmyth force his way back but not for pennies on the dollar. We had to take on 6.25 million in cap without getting back a 1st round pick and basically gave LA the space needed to get Carter+Richards and win a Cup.
They will take contracts back, but only for players with large cap hits with minimum actual salary who aren't actually playing. Weber type contracts are their dream. What's with Arizona's obsession with not taking contracts back?
If they did that then the deal is even better is chychrun costs us 2.3MArizona will retain 50% but not take back salary
And their games aren't taken seriously, by anyone, so why are you stuck on Chychrun? The guy's not even playing, because the hockey isn't taken seriously. They're an unserious team not worthy of respect.
And why wouldn't they want to take a contract, what do they have to lose, and it could even sweeten the pot a bit.Man it is insane the coyotes don’t want any money back like you will have a hard time getting your price if you don’t take dollars
Why would the Oilers want someone who is content to soak up top line and powerplay minutes with no competition on a non-competitive team?He can sign there in the offseason, after a playoff run with the Oilers.
With Puljujarvi gone, you don't even have to include Kulak. The money works.Yup, ARI should be out of discussions if they can't take money back. Not sure why Holland would have Chychrun as top priority.
NSH works better especially if they like Yamamoto for some reason.
Yama+Kulak+1st + prospect
Weird, seems like a you and Domi thing. But he would fit fine in the top-6. He's got skill, grit and would come cheap. Why would the Oilers want someone who is content to soak up top line and powerplay minutes with no competition on a non-competitive team?
Lots of players in the NHL who would not only be a better fit, but also a much stronger drive to win.
Yeah like to me Kulak should be acceptable as the contract going back. And why wouldn't they want to take a contract, what do they have to lose, and it could even sweeten the pot a bit.
No Movement Clauses are a hell of thing.
The deadcap kings. Pathetic organization.Arizona is the 3rd team helping out Ny to get Kane

The Oilers still have to move money to fit in Chychrun so they'll have to make another move to clear out $2m or so. I don't even think they can afford to waive anybody because they're running a 20 man roster as is so something else will have to give.Seravalli says thats why we were quiet with Chychrun yesterday. They didn't want to take on money (JP is my guess). Well now he's moved..
Sure, if we want to send Broberg back down to AHL . Was thinking more of roster spot and not cap. With Puljujarvi gone, you don't even have to include Kulak. The money works.
Yeah it seems some of these gm’s aren’t understanding the realities of the leagues cap situation.Man it is insane the coyotes don’t want any money back like you will have a hard time getting your price if you don’t take dollars
