What I noticed is Sproul has very good top speed, but it takes him a few strides to get to it. He has pretty average footspeed.Sproul and Pelech looked a step slow at times (Pelech more than Sproul).

What makes me happy, is knowing that the hive-mind on these boards is factually wrong in this instance. The same thing has been said for many months now: "Corrado sucks".
But Corrado was a finalist for "best Dman in the OHL" last year. So the OHL thinks he's very good.
Then he got invited to the WJ tryouts, so hockeyCanada thinks he's very good.
Now he's playing his typical game: flawless defensive hockey with a bit of an offensive touch. And he's playing his game with success here and he could very well make the team. And if that happens, I will be even happier.
Being invited to Team Canada is like being invited to an NHL allstar game. It doesn't matter.
I wasn't that impressed with RNH as these commentators are. Made a nice play to get it out in front + some decent forecheck, but didn't really stand out. Lost the puck a few by trying to make the individual play.
Stop talking about Corrado, please... Just stop. It's so painful for those of us that aren't Nuck fans or trolls.

Cut him!
I would argue that not being great at anything is a flaw. Cant shut down players with the best of them, cant produce offense with the best of them and can't play physical with the best of them. Can do all solid but I'm not sure that gets you on this team when theres already 4 guys who do most of the things he does but does one or 2 of them excellentlyHe does everything well. He's also very mobile and imo he looked better than all the right handed shooting defenseman. Scores clutch goals. Tonight, Subway series and in Russia in the summer the Sudbury Wolves played in a junior tournament and he scored in the championship game. His character is also apparent. The other players you listed have flaws. Corrado doesn't
So scoring a goal isn't going to help a guy that "doesnt do anything amazing" but is just "well rounded"? Why should the goal's look matter? Isn't a goal a goal? Heck it was the GWG. Didn't he have the GWG in a SSS game too?
I don't get how being a well rounded player is a BAD thing? Would you rather bring the specialist or a guy that can play both ends? The fact this tournament has a cut off to adding players makes me think the well rounded guy while maybe not being great in 1 specific area is the safer pic.
Then there is Corrado's skating ability & the fact he has played in Russia against Russia this summer.
The lengths some people will go to discredit Corrado is laughable. This isn't specifically you newfy but what I've seen so far.

Corrado is far from perfect, I know you said this post isnt just about me but Canuck fans acting like everyone is out to get them on Corrado is pretty annoying. plenty of people has said he was good tonight.
But I'm guessing you didnt watch the game if you think his goal will help his case all that much. He dumped a wrister in basically that went in the net. It wasnt even a hard shot.
I also never said being well rounded is bad but its also not great. Hamilton, Ouellet, and Rielly all excel at multiple things. Harrington is probably the best CHL shut down guy and Reinnhart is pretty well rounded too. The first four all do something extremely well, and Reinahrt is probably better as a shut down guy. Thats 5 guys ahead of him with at least one PP specialist being taken (Murphy or Sproul). Depending on the camp they have they make 2 offensive types because all roles are filled on the team. Theres at least 4 players I would trust against any teams top line, theres 4 or 5 that I would trust to run a PP and all are close 5 on 5. With a bunch of already well rounded players there a few specialists may be better than a well rounded guy.
Thats why I think it will be interesting to see how it all shakes out because its an interesting question. Specialist or the well rounded guy is what it comes down to.
It's pretty clear his spot is in jeopardy with the game tonight.

It should be, he should have to earn his spot rather then it be given to him on a sliver platter.
And I'm not saying he is Some others may be but I'm not.
I'd say there are more people downplaying him then saying he was good (if we take out the Van fans). We aren't acting like everyone is out for Corrado, just looking for the recognition it seems every other player is getting. However like everything else relating to us the majority of the mentions are negative or downplaying.
Thanks for undermining me by saying I didn't watch the game when I in fact did. I'm not saying the goal is be all end all but for a guy that doesn't do one thing great adding offense in ANY form helps his cause & Corrado did that tonight by scoring a goal & setting up another. I don't see how this is even an arguing point.
You're right that surely wasn't a hard shot... Corrado has a MUCH harder shot.
Good to hear Frankie had a nice game. Quietly pulling for him.
Thats terrible logic, why would team Canada waste their time and invite guys that they wouldn't think had a chance to make the team.
I just dont see how someone who watched the game could honestly think that goal is going to have much bearing at all on his stock for the team when it was a Subban mistake more then anything. Especially coupled with the fact that Corrado will probably be the 7th and behind 4 or 5 guys offensively if he makes it. Didnt mean to make it sound like I was calling you out
