Pietrangelo, Brodie, Barrie, and to a lesser extent Tanev are the free agents to look out for. Where they sign is direct influence on the market for Deangelo. It is clear that teams, like Vegas, see trading for Deangelo as a contingency plan.

Pietrangelo signing in St. Louis would have to be seen as best case for that cause.

But what ever will will they do when they don't have Trouba "sheltering" them by getting caved in by every possession metric there is?

The argument is that Trouba gets "caved in" in possession metrics so that Fox and TDA might not have to, so that they might be able to better utilize their strengths.

Of course, both this argument and Trouba's perceived value to our team rely on the distinction between defensive zone play and the ability to exit the zone, which apparently not everyone subscribes to.

I like a lot of things that Trouba brings to the team. They need someone like him. But 8 million needs to get you a guy that can take the tough assignments and excel at them. Not just be a meat shield.

After that Anderson nonsense people may want to put the brakes on thoughts of a flurry of deals at noon tomorrow.

At noon teams call players. Player agents then ask for absurd amounts, because Anderson. Then negotiations go on and on.
