The follow up question would be: if trouba files but then resigns before the arbitration hearing, do the rangers lose access to the 2nd buyout period. Is it simply a guy filing or is it having a guy who filed and is scheduled to or will have an arbitration hearing?

Tony is not arbitration eligible. But that would be bad planning on Gorton's part anyway. Why practically beg someone to go file to get a buyout window when he could have bought someone out, if he wanted/needed to, two weeks ago?

He's weak on the puck and prone to defensive lapses. Offensively, he's a perimeter player at this point in his carer and much slower than he used to be. Simplify the game, let him drive offense, play him at wing
