Great stuff. Now dump Namestikov, bury Smith and get a nice haul for Kreider and we're in good shape going forward.

I wouldn't consider (potentially) not buying anyone out to be a disappointment.

No, but it would set up the disappointment of having to trade Kreider for a weak return and not being able to afford Tony D and/or Lemieux

People here need to realize how easy the NHL makes it to circumvent the cap. Staal's eye is degenerating, Shatty's knee is not better, both of those are as legit as Hossa's itchy skin. Until the league clamps down, you use what they give you. Also, this would only be if the trades you want to do fall through and you have to get under the day before rosters are set.
