pace. just watch him at even strenght with sid, its awful, hes awful at 5v5.

Sid credits PH with his net front work as a big reason why he's scoring so much in tight. PH occupies a defender, takes punishment and Sid gets time to work his magic.

It's ok to say you'd like an upgrade in the top 6 without ******** on PH.

Hornqvist has a better ES points per game ratio since coming to the Penguins than:

Giroux
Kessel
Spezza
Bergeron
Zetterberg
Kesler
Backes

He basically has the same ES points/game as Steen, Foligno and Landeskog. So basically, to call him a 3rd liner at ES is statistically false.

A guy who is often used to screen the goalie isn't great at even strength scoring? You don't say. Hornqvist probably won't maintain a 71 point pace, but it's ridiculous to act like he's declined when he's off to the best start of his career. He may not be a sexy player, but he's a very good player. Neal looks better in highlights but he doesn't provide a fraction of what Horny does. We won that trade and I don't understand how anybody on our side would want a do over.

how about looking who hes playing with? sid. hes due to be statistcally good at EV. but hes actually not. any player with sid playing 82 games will put up around the same numbers as hornqvist at EV. now, a top 6 wing like steen, would put up MUCH better numbers than hornqvist.

Yes, Hagelin, who has never hit 40 points in a season, is better than Hornqvist, who has consistently had a 50 point pace over his career. Yeah...

hags, does so much away from the puck. and doesnt or didnt get to play with sid 82 games yet. hed put just as good numbers.

Hornqvist was 2nd on the team in goals on the road to a Stanley cup. I'll take that guy.

yah, but who concussed MAF and forced MS to play murray in the playoffs. neal.

neal was more crutial to the cup than hornqvist.

A. That's false that any player who plays with Sid will put up the same numbers that Hornqvist puts up
B. Why is Hornqvist hurt because he plays with Crosby while guys like Steen aren't hurt when they play with guys like Tarasenko?
C. Why are the stats that prove Hornqvist is effective at ES without Crosby not relevant? You're throwing out stats because it doesn't support your agenda or something.

Are you judging Hornqvist from a stats sheet. Here's a stat for you: Hornqvist scores more points than anyone in the league within 10 feet of the net over the past 3 seasons. He'll make life very difficult for goalies and attracts attention from defenders opening up space for the other forwards. We score goals without him touching the puck but he is still instrumental in some of those due to his hard work off the puck. His teamates, coaches and most fans appreciate and know how important he is to us.

quite opposite, im judging him by watching him play, dump n chase, tunnel vision hockey. its tiresome.

but enough about hornqvist/neal. (neal scored 31 without a superstar center last year, its clear whos better rather easily imo)

This is Hornqvist's third season here and people are still doubting him? He's first in playoff goal scoring since he got here. Not to pick on Geno, but #72 has literally twice as many post-season goals in the last two seasons.
