"Why would the Blues need to give up any assets for ROR when they can just sign Stastny for free?"

-Blues fans

You sorely lack context in your complaints.. Most people would rather hang on to our higher end prospects as opposed to dealing them for ROR, as they fit our positions of need as well and we have had a similar player to ROR in Stastny who didn't mesh well with Tarasenko.

Maybe this was best served for a Toronto thread in which Nylander is a lock to be a 70point 1C for STL.

Robert Thomas has been held out of the prospects camp in STL. They said it was an injury sustained at the memorial cup, but it would make sense that he is going the other way if BUF is eating the salary. STL also did have a minority owner pull out recently, so the need for some cash relief would make sense.
No, it was TowerBrook selling their remaining shares, the previous majority owner. They were always going to leave at some point.

There is no way Mtl trade the 2019 first PROTECTED OR UNPROTECTED. they will still tank even with ROR. God sake, it's common knowledge that they won't trade a 2019 first when they are one of the worst team in the league.

If Im Buffalo I trade him out west. Definitely not in your own division. Not unless its for overpay.

This wouldn't surprise me considering the reports of teams like Montreal and St Louis "hovering" over O'Reilly, but nothing about these tweets inspires a lot of confidence  Unless White's birdies have proved reliable in the past?
Jeremy White does have sources in the Sabres organization. We'll just wait to see what shakes out.

My prediction is O'Reilly for Steen, Thomas and 2019 1st.

That would certainly hurt us quite a bit. Maybe switch out Steen for Berglund/Sobotka and I could see it being a possibility. I just really don't believe we are willing to ship out Thomas as high as management has seemed to put him on a pedestal.

Lots of fighting in other threads between Blues fans and Sabres fans. Lets hope if this is true the return is something both fan bases can live with.
Agreed. I mean shit, both our fanbases have been through enough in our existence. We're really in the same boat here.
