This is my guess as well, though maybe not with the C.
Pens did the same with Crosby & Lemieux skating together on Consol ice.
The fact that they will have a special event for the first person skating on the ice is so lame IMO.
Just a reminder to all those interested, tickets will be released tomorrow for the open house on September 10. A link to where to get them will be put up here in the morning.
As ridiculous as it sounds now, Baccarat was as good as casinos got in Edmonton when it opened. As was the original location for the Palace Casino in West Edmonton Mall.
When it opens I'll wander over and take a look. Tough to judge fairly when they are still in the midst of construction. But whoever said online judgments were ever related to fairness?
Maybe it will be Daryl Katz and Stephen Mandel, I'd be ok with that.

Just curious, has anybody actually been able to book tickets from this site yet? I keep refreshing the page (and subscribed to the newsletter a week or two ago), but have yet to see any definitive sign-up form or anything like that.
Perhaps I'm just too much of a keener...
I know I would. As long as it's not made into a big deal than I wouldn't care if Katz took his whole family out for a skate

Oh I'll definitely take a poke around at some point.
That stuns me that Baccarat could ever be considered "good". Even the owners can't contain their glee at getting a new building.
8 am. Gonna be bright and early for a good time!
