Rochester Americans retweeted -
@BuffaloSabres - Trade - #Sabres acquire Evander Kane, Zach Bogosian, Jason Kasdorf from @NHLJets
for Myers, Stafford, Lemieux, Armia and 1st rd pick. #BUFtrade

@RSandersonWHTK -
Official - #Sabres acquire Evander Kane, Zach Bogosian, RPI G Jason Kasdorf from WPG for Myers, Stafford, #Amerks Armia, Lemieux and a '15 1st.
Expecting Joel Armia will be reporting to #AHL St. John's. #IceCaps 12th in Eastern Conf. - they're home tonight (but that's a long trip).
Monster slobberknocker trade. Not gonna pick winner yet, but it's definately not #Amerks. That said, Armia probbably would've been gone soon anyways.

@kevinoDandC - For the #Amerks, losing Joel Armia is a major loss. But if he wasn't traded, he was headed to Buffalo when Stafford, others were traded.

Wow that's a bad trade by Buffalo. Not that I care I honestly don't but Evamder Kane is a problem child and he's nothing special. Bogosian was decent in Atlanta. They gave up a lot to get very little. Im shocked theres not anger in this thread by the fact the Americans just lost Armia.

AJ Jakubec ‏@AJonSports - Not surprised to see Brendan Lemieux involved in Kane/Myers blockbuster.
His agent (Claude) told the Sabres Brendan wasn't signing in BUF.

‏@AJonSports - Don't know the exact reason. Claude just didn't want him playing there.

Craig ‏@CraigPilc - Is WPG better than Buffalo? who wouldn't want to be a Sabre in 2 years?

‏@SabresProspects - WPG has a great group of prospects at all positions. Good balance...and Trouba turns just 21 in two weeks.

@BuffNewsVogl - Murray on Lemieux - "We tried to sign him earlier this year, but we couldn’t come to an agreement. That had nothing to do with trading him."

wow brycen martin is tearing it up. Seems like Ullmarks numbers are improving too, and he has a bad team in front of him from what it sounds like. I thought I heard on WGR today that he is coming to NA next year? is that true? i thought he had one more year, but maybe that was poster/oloffson

I haven't watched a MODO game in a while but yeah, his team is brutal. At least when Nylander was there they had some scoring from him, but before, during, and after they've been garbage defensively. Ullmark's game has improved after maybe the first month. You can't expect great numbers in that situation. His play since early on has been fine from what I've seen and according to the numbers. The plan as far as I know has been for him to come to NA after this season.

Yeah, Ullmark had a bit of a rocky start, but he's been putting up real good numbers lately. His team is crap, which doesn't help. His contract with MODO (iirc) ends after this season, and he signed his ELC, so no reason to think he won't come over this summer.

Similar-ish situation to RPI. No offensive support..

Game Recap - Amerks Close Out Roadie With Win Over First-Place Utica - Amerks.com - Wednesday, February 11.

The Rochester Americans scored twice late in the first period to overcome an early one-goal deficit and held on for a hard-fought 2-1 win over the first-place Utica Comets Wednesday night at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. With the win, the Amerks wrap up their season-long eight-game road swing with a 3-3-2-0 record and have now collected points in five straight games while improving to 21-26-3-0 on the season.

All three goals in the game were scored in the first period. The third goal was scored by rookie defenseman Brady Austin - his first professional goal/a shorthanded goal/that became the game-winning goal - with less than one second left. Jerome Leduc also scored for the Amerks while William Carrier assisted on both Rochester tallies and Zac Dalpe earned the primary assist on Austin’s game-winner to push his point streak to a season-high six games. Matt Hackett was solid in net for Rochester, stopping 22 of the 23 shots he faced including several key saves during a ten save third period. Carter Bancks potted the lone goal for the Comets who saw their four-game win streak halted. Former Amerk Jacob Markstrom finished with 18 saves on 20 shots in the loss.

Amerks will actually lose their two best forwards, as someone has to be called up for Stafford still.

They can just put Hodgson back in for now and not carry an extra forward. Murray was asked about that ( a call up) and said TBD. Which could many anything at this point from more trades are in the works to they just haven't decided yet.

Kinda lame they chose that name instead of something more relatable to that nice region.

What the heck kinda illness did he have for almost 2 months? Mono lol

Linus Ullmark has completed the impossible. His GAS is now officially out of the 3's and back to where it should be in the 2's! In 28 games Ullmark has a GAA of 2.99 and a save percentage of 912%

If he can finish off the season with a GAA in the range of 2.85 than all be extremely happy considering he was on a last place Modo team that would be thrilling to see how he bounced back!

His save % over the past 10-15 games must be really impressive. I remember formthe longest time he was floating between 860-880%.

Had a rough start to the season but can't wait to see what he can do next year in Rochester. I still see him as a potential starter in the future.

They'd probably get slapped around a little.
