Don't know if we've discussed who should replace Cassidy but I'd like to nominate Larry Courville from the Reading Royals.

Cunneyworth. Luke Richardson if he's not ready to into the NHL. Is Mike Morris still coaching in Manchester or is he somewhere else? Heck let's go for a junior coach.

He's seen as an offensive defensmen?

I think he leans more towards the offensive side then the defensive side, his skill level is pretty high end for a defenceman. I remember the one game I watched he came down on a two on two and he put the puck through his legs to walk around the opposing defender, alot of D can't do that in a game. He has the talent and size to be a good NHL player, the question is always going to be consistency with him. He was a big time prospect coming into the WHL, it seems he is just now putting it together and we may reap the rewards. Outside of Reinhart I like his upside the best of any of our picks. Hopefully he can get himself into the mix for the World Juniors next year.

Whats different from Swift Current to Saskatoon? Is he the Blades #1?

He went from being a #3/4 guy without consistent PP time to being "the guy" on Saskatoon. He now plays virtually the entire PP and plays huge minutes. He said the coach has way more confidence in him now.

Lol he's an overrated coach really. Readings championship had a buttload of AHL talent on it because of the lockout. They had a lot of guys on their playoff roster in that year who wouldn't normally have qualifies for ECHL playoffs. That and their affiliates were awful. Unfortunately teams like them and Elmira vastly overachieve because of the whole AHL proximity thing they got going on. They get players they otherwise wouldn't I'd they didn't have that in their favor.

They're playing really well again this year. I've seen them play live this season - they are a very well-executed team which is a byproduct of good coaching.

Always nice to have an unexpected hit. 1972 you said he is more offensive from what you saw, what were the defensive negatives if you saw anything major?

Armia can't stop getting hurt. It's concerning.

He was back on the ice for the overtime period which unfortunately for the second time in three days - Amerks allowed a goal.

I only watched him play once and he was pretty dominant, but his weaknesses can be decision making and consistency from those who watch him often.

Game Recap - Amerks Third Straight Overtime Game-Fall To Admirals - Amerks.com - Sunday, February 8.

The Rochester Americans fought back from two separate one-goal deficits in the third period, but ultimately fell to the Milwaukee Admirals 6-5 in overtime following Austin Watson’s winning goal late in the extra session Sunday night at the BMO Brady Harris Center.

The loss closes out a three-in-three weekend for the Amerks, who were playing in the seventh game of a season-long eight game road swing, as well as their third straight overtime game. Overall, the Amerks now sit at 20-26-3-0 with 27 games left in their regular season schedule.

Zac Dalpe scored twice and added an assist for the Amerks, and Jake McCabe scored the game-tying goal in the late stages of the third period to extend his personal scoring streak to a season-long six games (2+5). Phil Varone and Mark Pysyk each finished with a goal for the Rochester, while Jerry D’Amigo contributed two assists to round out the scoring for the Amerks, who have collected six out of a possible eight points over their last four games. Andrey Makarov and Matt Hackett shared time in net for Rochester, and combined to make 25 saves.

Alongside Watson’s winner, Brendan Leipsic scored twice with Ian White, Mark Van Guilder and former Amerk Triston Grant potting goals for the Admirals. Magnus Hellburg made 24 saves in net for the win.

Starting with the bad first, Armia's turnover leading to GR's second goal was ugggggly. McCabe's pass to spring Schaller for Rochester's first goal was a thing of beauty. Also, Armia fighting off two guys to maintain possession in OT and then getting it to MacKenzie for the point shot leading to the goal was awesome.

Highlights here:

http://griffinshockey.com.ismmedia....Redesign/Video Highlights/Video - 150207.html

I don't know if I would say it was that bad. The first look you just see him trying to toe drag around a guy in his own end, not so good. But if you replay it and look how things develop, he barely got the puck before the guy was on him. The only play he had beside the toe drag was to shoot the puck directly into the corner, which would have been better but it also would have been a give away to the other GR player. Not the best play but considering how quick things happened and the opposing player came from his blind side, eh. What was way uglier was watching the rest of the Amerks as Armia chased the guy who jacked him. They basically watched the two GR players pass back and forth for the tap in. That cross crease passed went right through the goalie and two defensemen with their thumbs up their butts.

2/9/15 - SABRES PROSPECTS REPORT
Fasching showcased his skills vs. Ohio State; Bailey hits 30-goal mark

By Kris Baker - SabresProspects.com

20150208-Fasching-Top.jpg

Hudson Fasching added a spectacular goal to his resume Saturday as the Minnesota Golden Gophers throttled Ohio State 6-2 to sweep the Big Ten conference series.

At 7:01 of the opening frame, Fasching brought the fans out of their seats when he carried the puck from the corner behind the Buckeyes' net, quickly reversed while protecting it, and arced to the front for the forehand finish. The play showcased most of what Fasching does best with his size and reach beneath the goal line, crisp stops and starts, and instincts to get to the net front area.

WATCH: FASCHING'S GOAL vs. OHIO STATE

The marker was Fasching's eighth of the year and third in 10 games since returning from the World Junior Championship. He has 13 points and a plus-seven rating through 25 contests.

Regarding Martin, this season really exemplifies what he is as a prospect. You saw how underwhelming he could be, now in a better situation you can see the upside. His head for the game is questionably but the tools are for real, something of a Myers with a lower ceiling and floor in that regard. The possibility of being a 2nd pairing guy is definitely there as is the possibility of not being an NHLer. I thought it was a solid pick at the time. Though I'm not massively high on him, the draft was really weak by that point.

It's also the kind of pick you make when it's already your 6th pick of the draft and you've made a million and have a million more in surrounding years. You have more swings than any other team has ever had. Swing hard.

@RSandersonWHTK - Notes - Amerks Practice - Tuesday, February 10.

Ruhwedel is on-ice at practice in a green no-contact jersey. Suffered an upper-body injury Saturday at Grand Rapids.
Not a big surprise - #Amerks didn't wait very long to start working on (full-ice) power-play drills in today's practice.
Cassidy expects Grigorenko (LBI) to start skating in next couple days. Ruhwedel (UBI) doubtful for Wednesday but hopeful for weekend.
Bagnall isn't skating yet - probably (at least) 2-3 weeks away. Petrecki's still not skating or anywhere close to returning.
Dalpe on three consecutive 3rd period comebacks over the weekend to force OT (Friday+Saturday+Sunday) - "We're pesky."
No confirmation yet, but it sounds like Hackett will likely get the start in net for #Amerks on Wednesday night in Utica.

Cal Petersen Named Hockey East Defensive Player Of The Week.

South Bend, Indiana - Notre Dame hockey freshman goaltender Cal Petersen was honored by Hockey East on Monday by being named the league's Defensive Player of the Week. Petersen was recognized by the league for his efforts last week at Maine where Notre Dame claimed three of the four available points in the hostile confines of Alfond Arena. Petersen allowed just one goal over a span of 85 minutes on the ice (0.71 goals against average), while stopping 43 of the 44 shots he faced for a .977 save percentage.
