If many feel Neuvirth has earned the starting job, then I see Enroth traded and they give Hackett the back up spot..

If only had a better coach ( cunner worth where are you). The team would probably be better.

Next year Rochester could be really good...imagine this to start the season:

Carrier-Eichel-Armia
Xxxx-Reinhart-Bailey
Fasching-Compher-Baptiste
What planet would Eichel be in the AHL on ANY team? Pittsburgh could draft him and he would still make their team.

That AHL roster would likely be awful. You listed a bunch of rookies that would likely get dominated in the AHL without vet support.

Some people just don't get that all rookie teams with "potential" are generally a train wreck in the AHL.

I'd say that Grigo, Armia, Larsson, Reinhart and/or Eichel or that other dude might be too many rookies making it to the show at the same time.

Wouldn't be suprised if Eichel was the best of those players at next years training camp.

The kid is physically built to be successful in the nhl at 18. Size, strength, and speed will not be an issue for him.

A blunt #Amerks coach Chadd Cassidy: "Right now we're a team of words. ... The effort level is unacceptable." http://on.rocne.ws/1zDOE4J

As the season was beginning, Rochester Americans coach Chadd Cassidy asked players during individual meetings to discuss their goals, and to explain how those aspirations would mesh with team objectives.

Right now, there's a major disconnect between what players want and how they can achieve those goals.

Austin is just starting his ELC this year. He's Zadorov sized, and not totally immobile. Not much offensive upside there, but if he plays a simple game he should be ok. Getting playing time is good for him at this point.

Sundher is in the last year of his ELC, and this demotion is probably a harbinger for the end of his time as a Sabre, as the drafted juniors start graduating next year. He just hasn't shown enough in his 2+ years in the organization. Good wheels, hardly ever does anything with that speed.

Man this is getting boring...going to games and expecting to see a win. Last year it was going expecting a loss. I'd like a happy medium. Only 1 home game have they not been in and that was just the 2nd game of the year. Other a SO loss and last Sunday lost 2-0 in a game where they had like 40 shots and hit 5 posts.

Sundher looks pretty fast but you can see the rust. He had q shot in close and fanned on it. He was playing much up there so maybe he's motivated. Could use a forward though as we are actually shorthanded lol.

@RSandersonWHTK -

Griffins D Nick Jensen scores with a shot from the high-slot. GR's 1st SOG of the game (#Amerks have 4). GR 1 RCH 0 [1st 5:44]
(LaxSabre - Mark Zengerle (Rochester native and teammate of Jake McCabe at Wisconsin) with the screen in front of Makarov.)
End 1st - Griffins 1 (Jensen) #Amerks 0. SOG - Grand Rapids 10 Rochester 6.

@kevinoDandC -
#Amerks LW William Carrier is slammed into the end boards by D Brennan Evans. He is in pain on the bench. Shoulder?
#Amerks LW William Carrier was back on the ice for the final shift of the first period. Appears to be fine.

Update - 8:10 pm ET - Need to amend that "appears to be fine" tweet about #Amerks William Carrier. Has not come back for the 2nd Period and we're 6 minutes in.

@AmerksHockey - GOAALLL!!! Zac Dalpe celebrates his 200th AHL game with a goal! Brand new hockey game here at the Blue Cross Arena.
https://twitter.com/AmerksHockey/status/538498483289088000

@kevinoDandC - Zac Dalpe ties the score 1-1 for the #AMerks just :51 into the 2nd Period.

Zac Dalpe stripped former #Amerks captain Kevin Porter of the puck deep in the RW circle and somehow slipped the puck past G Tom McCollum.

@RSandersonWHTK - #Amerks tie the game - Zac Dalpe with the goal in his first game back from injury. RCH 1 GR 1 [2nd 0:51]

@RSandersonWHTK -
Griffins get their lead back - PPG from Andy Miele off a nifty feed from Mitch Callahan. Griffins 2 #Amerks 1 [2nd 8:28]

@kevinoDandC -
Great pass by Mitch Callahan to set up Andy Miele and the Griffins go back ahead of the #Amerks, 2-1.
Mitch Callahan was at the left edge of the crease, made the backhand pass to the right of the slot for Andy Miele.

@AmerksHockey - Irwin may have just slammed home a power-play goal. Ref initially waved it off, but officials are discussing.
GOAALLLL!!! Go to the net, and good things happen. Brayden Irwin slams home a beautiful 2-on-1 pass from Dalpe! 2-2 ballgame! #Amerks

@kevinoDandC -
Great play off the rush and Brayden Irwin either steers in a Luke Adam pass, or it goes off his skates and/or shin. PPG for the #Amerks.
Phil Varone made the instant touch pass from between 2 defenders, to Luke Adam on LW. Adam centered and Brayden Irwin steered it in. 2-2.

@RSandersonWHTK -
#Amerks RW Brayden Irwin redirects the puck into the net. Initially waved off...but officials are meeting. Game could be tied [2nd 12:08]
Big crowd at the BCA in #Roc chanting "GOAL! GOAL! GOAL!" ....and they're right. #Amerks goal counts. Irwin's 2nd of season. 2-2 [2nd 12:08]

Seeing how Armia has really stepped up his game this year. It really brings home Regier's stupidity in rushing Grigs into the NHL. he could have a similar emergence next year in his 2nd AHL season in the 2nd or 3rd year of his ELC.

But no :shakehead

@RSandersonWHTK - And there's the timeout from the Griffins. Tonight's attendance: 7,107. Biggest crowd at the BCA so far this season. #AHL #Roc

@AmerksHockey - 2nd Period comes to a close. #Amerks and @griffinshockey are locked up in a good one! It's 2-2 with 20 minutes to play.
@kevinoDandC -
End of two periods, #Amerks and Griffins tied 2-2. Amerks outshoot Griffins 13-4 (19-14 for game).
@RSandersonWHTK - End 2nd - #Amerks 2 (Dalpe, Irwin) Griffins 2 (Jensen, Miele). SOG - RCH 13 (19) GR 4 (14).

LaxSabre - Drew Stafford hurt for the Sabres tonight in the first period - hasn't returned - will probably be out for the away leg in Montreal which is Saturday night.
@BuffNewsVogl - No Drew Stafford for the Sabres during the second period. Awaiting word on status. Sabres have no extra healthy forwards for Saturday.
@kevinoDandC - Regarding last RT - If the #Sabres need a forward for Saturday, do they recall Johan Larsson again or give Tim Schaller a chance?

And Armia might be in line for a callup if Stafford is out.

@RSandersonWHTK - If he was healthy, the easy choice to recall for a RW spot w/#Sabres would be #Amerks Joel Armia...but he's out with an upper-body injury.
Same as #Sabres, #Amerks have no extra healthy forwards. If someone goes from RCH → BUF, someone (Sundher/Kea/Jacobs) needed from ELM → RCH.

Griffins get their lead back (again). Teemu Pulkkinen goes top-shelf from the circle. PPG. GR 3 #Amerks 2 [3rd 4:05]

@kevinoDandC - Teemu Pulkkinen comes out from behind the net into the LW circle and fires far side, top corner. #Amerks trail 3-2 after the PPG.

@RSandersonWHTK - Griffins RW Anthony Mantha whistled for interfering (up high) with #Amerks Johan Larsson, who heads straight to the dressing room [3rd 4:42]
#Amerks tie it again. Another PPG. Another top-shelf goal. Jake McCabe gets his 2nd of the season. RCH 3 GR 3 [3rd 5:37]

@kevinoDandC - The instant release and perfect shot by Jake McCabe from the RW circle pulls the #Amerks back into a tie, 3-3. PPG at 5:37.

@AmerksHockey - GOAALLL!!! Jake McCabe with the twisted wrister from the circle! #Amerks tie this one up again at 3-3!

@RSandersonWHTK - #Amerks RW William Carrier still has not returned to the bench. Johan Larsson is now gone as well. Rochester down to 10 forwards.
3-on-1 rush for the #Amerks - Grigorenko rings one off the right post. Still tied at 3.

@RSandersonWHTK - #Amerks LW Johan Larsson back on the ice. [3rd 13:20] Still no William Carrier.
@kevinoDandC - Johan Larsson just played a shift. Seems just fine.
