Given his age and years of experience, I have to think he'll go for the longest contract at the best price.

This next contract will likely have to pay for the rest of his life.

After Holtby's meh year and ok playoffs have to think Lehner gets the most cash on the goalie market. 6yr 7m if he leaves Vegas, 6yr 6.5m if he stays in Vegas (no state taxes playing for VGK)

He's the most desirable goalie on the market (assuming Markstrom re-signs) and should get 5 x 6 AVV or thereabouts.

I'm really curious about this, I think Holtby might still get more for name recognition but that would be silly. Lehner should be the hottest ticket in the goalie market easily.

It's a weird year, with a flat cap, some owners wanting to spend even less due to covid impacts on $$, and more goalies available than normal.

In a normal year, I think he'd get ~5-6 years X 6.5-7M. This year? I wouldn't be surprised to see ~3-4 years X 5-5.5M.

He will chase money. He stole the spot from a 7m/yr goalie. He won’t sign in Vegas for less than what fleury is making.

Chasing money doesn't necessarily mean chasing the highest AAV. A player can come out ahead trading a discount for term. An environment in which many teams are hurting for short-term cap space is ripe for that type of trade off. The Bishop deal that saw him sign for a number in the 4s in exchange for a 6 year term as a soon to be 31 year old offers some precedent.

I'm not sold that the interest in Lehner is going to be as strong as people in here think he is. It's unfair to him, but I think teams will be really hesitant to commit big money and term to him with his sobriety concerns. I could see a 3 or 4 year deal, but I don't really see a longer deal than that.

My guess is 2-4 years at $5-$6 million a year.

Friedman thinks the Leafs will be a major bidder for him, I disagree only because I don't think he leaves Vegss

I think he's a good fit in Vegas, but I believe he's implied at least once that he's going to be signing with the team that offers the most money as he's taken 'prove it' contracts the past two offseasons. Can Vegas afford to outbid the competition?

Also please no metro teams or Leafs.

With the Fluery drama I’d say he’s probably the favorite to stay in Vegas.

If not Vegas, my guess is Carolina

Maybe Vegas is impressed by Montreal and is on the bandwagon of masked man combos in 13m$+.
