As an individual accomplishment, yeah, the 400m WR is more impressive but let's not diminish what Bolt did. Not his best time, sure. But there wasn't much time between the semis and the finals which surely impacted the speed of the race. And 3 straight Olympic golds in the 100m is amazing. We're lucky to have seen two of the best of all time in Phelps and Bolt.

on the other end, watching a team get pelted with almost 60 shots against only two games [for comparison, the chelsea/west ham game yesterday had only 9 shots on goal, 23 in total] while not conceding, can be pretty entertaining...

That's true, I guess it depends on the quality, if they are mostly low percentage, then yea, if they are pretty good and the goalie is just saving out of her ass, then I can see it being entertaining for at least the one side.
