Rakell training with the weight vest along with Landeskog, Oduya, (can`t recognise the rest). Damn either he has started to post certain type of pictures or he will be a lot stronger upcoming season. It could be BIG for him. And us.

I think the smarts have always been there for him, he just has lacked some strenght and skill. Although even his skill is not that bad.

In other news: i`m getting hyped for Rakell`s upcoming season based on 2 instagram pictures. Damn, the season needs to start.:help:

Skill's never been an issue IMO.

Where are all the Rakell bashers who were treating Ricky as the next "Sbisa" punching bag during the off-season and how we needed to upgrade our 3rd line center? Raks was a 21 year old rookie center last year just getting his feet wet, and people were pointing fingers at him for us not winning the Cup, how we needed to upgrade our 3rd line center, and how much better we would be if we still had Bones. As we have seen in trainng camp and the pre-season, Raks is still developing, and will be one of the better third line centers in the league. He certainly looks like he has 2nd line potential, even though he will be our 3rd line center.

You should definitely pump the breaks here. Not only did people not overreact as severely as you're claiming, but now you're overreacting the other way. Way too early to tell if Rakell has improved or not. The early signs look good, let's leave it at that.

Yoooooooooouth!

Maybe Rakell's awesome pre-season can go back in time and not suck during the last playoffs?

Nobody said he was Sbisa. People did say that the guy from the playoffs had to be sheltered and was a detriment to a team trying to win a Cup.

Most of the folks saying that would like to see him in an actual NHL game against actual veteran NHL players who are acting like they give a damn. And to see if the team found a finisher for the line, because he still isn't scoring goals even against AHL goalies. I'm not sure many people think that Perry will be there long term.

He's looked much better and stronger on the puck, but like everyone else I'd like to see how he does against the real competition during the regular season.

Having said that, he's off to a promising start. :) BB has made sure to mention his play several times.

He was easily our best forward in the LA game, looking good so far. Not many scorers to put on his line to take advantage of his passing, though.

I do dig Rakell's confidence out there. There is definitely some real talent. Hopefully he can take another step this season, and be more consistent.

Rak is 47-71(66%) so far in his 4 pre season games (2xAvs and 2xLA) in the circle
