Loktionov has a game like that every once in awhile then disappears into obscurity for another 3 weeks.

Though you would never give him the benefit of the doubt if he did anyway. I think that's proven by the fact that you believe he's been invisible despite the fact that he's generated the fourth most shots of any forward on this team for his linemates (Jagr, Elias, Zajac then Loktionov), completes 86% of his passes (best on the team) and has improved defensively to the point where he's killing penalties.

I wish I could say that I'm at all surprised at your willingness to accept generating shots for your line, keeping the puck in your zone, and having a high GF for Zajac and not for Loktionov but I'm not. He's invisible and always will be to some.

Granted I am also very frustrated with his lack of production, but at least I'm consistent in attributing that frustration to the other underperforming bums on the team and don't go out of my way to point out that player X is invisible because of on "mistake" in a hockey game, for example (not saying you do this but the anti-Loktionov crowd loves this).

Loktionov's metrics are glowing on both ends of the ice. He's just not producing points. Very similar to your namesake actually. Loktionov is a playmaker - not a scorer (unlike Travis). He thrives by creating for others and he's done that - others haven't finished. You put your playmakers with snipers - something Deboer hasn't done with any consistency.

I hope he finds a home with Boucher. Both of those kids are talented offensively and if they click will give us lots to be excited about.

he's actually been really good this year for the most part. even without scoring he's been playing well. he plays less than 14 mins a night and is a few points short of our first and second line centers...

Loktionov is ahead of the following in ESP/60: Ryder, Carter, Zajac, Brunner, Bernier and Henrique.

Thus, Loktionov is in the top half of our regular forwards in even strength point production while being a very good zone exit and passing player.

He's been good.

I call BS, I can't think of anyone who is considered to have been playing well who has minimum point production.....

Reid's parents are going to be at the game tonight. Great for them. Must be a amazing feeling seeing your kid make it to the big leagues in person.

The sooner Boucher replaces Bernier on the second line, the better. Bernier's been killing that line's offense and judging by Pete's shuffling, he thinks it's Henrique or something. Henrique has been absolute money possession-wise and in the D-zone.

Can we pump the brakes on Boucher being an NHLer right now? He needs to be in the AHL and rushing him will turn him into another Tedenby. At least lets wait until DeBoer is fired so he doesn't ruin him like everyone else.

At least there's waiting to come back and bump him out of the lineup. We didn't have that with Tedenby. He was sadly one of the 12 best healthy forward options at the time. Reid won't stay up if/when he starts struggling.

Boucher had some nice shots and a great hit on Staal.

But he had a few passes right to a Rangers stick and looked lost in the NZ and behind on some plays. He should go back down to Albany and just work on getting used to the pace of the game there and getting a bit better on his skates. He performed pretty much as I expected he would. A few nice flashes of promise, but needs more time.

Well he was only brought up out of necessity because the Devils needed more scoring.

I agree that he needs to be sent back down to further refine his game but I don't know if the Devils have that luxury at this point.
