Meh he probably won't have much of an impact with the Leafs long term but he doesn't cost us anything and he fills a hole. Plus he is still young enough to improve.
Nice no risk move.

He has had injury problems that have slowed him down a bit. But he is a physical Dman who uses his size along the board and in front of his own net. Best part of his defensive game comes from his stick work and using his long reach to break up plays. He is good reacting to a play defensively, but he is very slow laterally and is beaten wide too easily. Mediocre in every aspect of offense and struggles to hit the net with his shot.

Thanks for sharing. Wouldn't hurt to give him a shot.

That's what I was thinking yesterday. He is clearly better defensively than Carrick but is a much worse skater. Think he will get at least an opportunity alongside Gardiner.

yeah he's equally equipped for the 2nd pair as Carrick, but Gardiner-Marchenko and Marincin-Carrick works better for the Leafs style-wise

25 yr old with some upside left (if injuries are past him). Unless Beauchemin/Tyutin/Gelinas/Barberio/Goloubef are part of the Avs future i don't really see why not.

Put him in this situation and I doubt he's much, if any better than the guys you listed.

Sounds like a right handed version of Marincin

Good for Toronto but what the hell was Holland thinking? It's time or Holland to move on. He's been really terrible the last few years.

Great pickup by the Leafs.Costs us nothing and if he doesn't work out he's Marlies bound which can help them as well.

He has stated on a few guys that he believed playing time for the player was important enough to risk sending them through waivers. He said so with Marchenko, and with Nestrasil a few years back who everyone knew wouldn't clear. There were also rumors that Marchenko was unhappy in Detroit. Don't blame him for being unhappy with being benched for no reason while lesser players get to play. Essentially all comes back to obsession with Vets by the coach/management.

I'd have to think Corrado goes all Mike Commodore on Babcock if he gets any footing in the NHL.

Corrado is the happiest person on earth today. The Leafs have really hurt this kids career. I guess if he's an NHL regular he'll get his shot somewhere, but man he hasn't played much hockey in the last two years.

Toronto didn't hurt his career.
He's not that good.
