What does he do better than Copp? It's not scoring. It's not faceoffs. It's not physicality.Don’t mind this, I like the player and fit, probably in the minority.
Could be wrong here though. I like the versatility and I think he is a better than Copp.

So's Copp. Most expensive 3rd line in the league if Perron or Fabbri end up down there?Solid third line player. Go blue
Then we win the lottery and draft eiserman. Boom nailed itI can't wait for the 11th pick in the 2024 draft. Detroit plug wings.
Nothing, or at least close to nothing. Like, I'd plug roster holes (i.e. Reimer as a backup, the Kostin trade + extension, Sprong deal) but I wouldn't use it to "build a playoff team" because that isnt really possible. It doesn't move the needle for teams like those in our position.i don't like these moves either but what would u guys have done this free agency?
That's my question too. What does he do better than Copp? It's not scoring. It's not faceoffs. It's not physicality.
I do agree with the competitive hockey part. Everyone wants the Wing to sign top talent, including Yzerman. The thing is, when those guys are available as free agents they typically don't want to play on shit teams. So the catch-22 is getting good enough as a team to land great free agents.I think the deal is rich but you have to pay to play. Compher has more offensive upside than Copp imo. At worst he regresses back to a 30 point guy and is overpaid. At best he's exactly what we need at 2c, allowing Copp to play a role he's more comfortable with, and paid just right. Probably somewhere in between.
We are not bad enough to tank even without the signings we made. It's clear the way forward is slowly start playing more and more competitive hockey to develop the core guys.
You know what, I think there are legit problems with this contract.Maybe Zadina is getting pushed out of the lineup?
Oh to be clear I wasn't saying that was a problem. You know what, I think there are legit problems with this contract.
Potentially pushing Zadina out of the lineup is NOT one of them.
