Don't take away from the extra effort of completely screening your own goalie.

There's a huge difference, because Makar can actually defend (+score) and Hughes loses all man battles.

Makar isn't some defensive juggernaut.
And give Hughes another year. He was drafted a year later.

The larger point is, we passed on defense at the top of the deeepest defenseman draft of the decade.

Call up seider + Valeno/rass. I want some hunger, some compete, those guys are trying/dying to be in the nhl. And quite frankly they are better than most players on the roster right now even with 0 experience.

Erne has been one of the biggest black holes on the team this year. His physicality yields nothing of substance.
