The same MayRay who started the year hot,

He had two good games, and outside of those two games was 1 point in 17 games and a -5 overall.

Then in the next seven games had two points and a -4. This was considered "good" production.

Then he had 6 points in the next six games. His by far hottest sustained stretch of the season and it took him 19 games to get it going.

...And then he has 0 points in the next 4 games (and a -4) again. Back to the same old Mason Raymond.

...And then he plays a game on the top line because Johnny was having a rough time lately. He picks up a secondary assist on a play that's pretty much all Hudler/Monahan:

But it was far from a productive game. He had his share of really boneheaded moves that you'd bench a 22 year old for. But Mason is 29 and gets a bye.

I was with you until the end. His assist was the primary assist, first of all, and that goal couldn't have happened with just Hudler and Monahan. Without him reading and supporting the play, Hudler would have been cornered.

His game overall was only bad if you were looking for it to be. He was no worse than his two linemates overall. There has been a noticeable change in Raymond lately. His really bad stretch involved him repeatedly skating himself into dead-ends and basically doing exactly what the defence wanted him to do. Now he's using his speed to back defenders off and actually seems to have a clue what he wants to do with the puck.
