I see him in bottom 6. I doubt he’s on the team next year other than call ups.

If you look at the roster and whose waivers e empty the team looks like

Top 6 eichel, Reinhart, skinner, olofsson, Cozens, xxx
Bottom 6 MoJo, Kahun, Thompson, Okposo, Lazar, xxx
1-2 spare parts Smith, xxx

Does the team sign NHL/AHL tweeters which could force him down

The team might want to fill those two empty spaces with Nhl veterans.

Since he’s on an ELC he can go down. You don’t want ELCs in the press box.

Just like anyone else. He does very well he can earn a spot. Cozens snd 8OA would have an advantage

I think this is a make or break year for Asplund. If he doesn't make the NHL or do something special in Rochester, I expect him to return to Sweden in 2021-22.
