so? I was just noting that that pairing will likely be a wreck in it's own zone. Didn't say "omg why isn't Klein there???". Honestly I think Staal-Kostka is a better option than the alternative because it lets us keep Moore and Klein together, but that second pairing will be ugly.

Well you said "RIP D zone coverage" implying that the D-zone coverage was alive when Klein was there but Kostka will somehow kill it.

I think Staal is very quietly having a nice season for us so far. +2 in 21 minutes against the Leafs the other night (LOL, +/-, I know)

He's looked solid in what I saw.

Koskta is pretty impressively bad, though.

I traditionally don't look at Corsi numbers until about 20 games into the season, once a decent sample is built up. After two games.... come one.

And I don't think you can reduce a player to his Corsi.

What do you look at?

I'd guess it will be worse because Kostka is not nearly as good of an NHLer as Klein (and that's saying something, because although I like Klein I don't regard him as more than a solid 3rd pairing D).
