age could help this guy. I love these signings especially with trading away picks. Keep em coming. Have to replenish the farm cause CT was rather crappy this yr.

Not that I'm trying to make a comparison between them but this signing reminded me of Matt Gilroy, can't believe he's going to be 30 this summer.

That's a really good signing. Tons of offense from the kid and can see the ice really well. He's a pure puck-moving defenseman, and we really needed that in our system. The Rangers sure do love them some defenseman that can skate.

I like this acquisition even more so than the Haggerty and McCarthy deals. The guy looked awesome in the NCAA tournament. I know he's older, but he's certainly not getting by on physical strength.

Yeah, gotta stock the prospect cupboard somehow. They basically just signed the equivalent of 3 picks from round 2-4. Not a bad way to go about things.

Interesting to see NYR have adopted close to an at all costs/as many as can
mentality when it comes to UFA since the MSL trade.

There's been a lot lately but the Rangers have been doing this for years now. Sometimes it works out very well for us (Girardi) and sometimes the players flop. They are losing nothing but Dolan's money so it's not like it matters.

He fits the way they want to play. High IQ, good with the puck. Puck possession as opposed to running around chasing. It will be interesting to see him at Development Camp as he is quite a bit older.

Must be on cloud 9. Captained his team to a Division I NCAA Championship and then signs with the New York Rangers.

Welcome aboard.

He's a bit old to be considered making up for lost draft picks, but if NYR don't resign Syvret, Johnson, and Falk, Hartford will need decent defensemen.

Baker and Bodie are certainly offensive upgrades over the Lee Baldwins of the world.

I'm thrilled that Sather is committed to scouting and mining the NCAA, though.

Between Allen, McIlrath and now Bodie, they should be okay depth wise in the AHL for players who can fill in if need be or make the team out of camp.

I"m on board with this, good college player, better AHL depth than Dan Syvret, plus he and Mcilrath can talk about growing up in Winnipeg ;)

Signing 3 college ufa's is a good move by the rangers. They've traded picks. In my mind they essentially are signing guys that basically you could look at as having "drafted" and developing in the last 4 years in the NCAA. But even better these guys matured physically and mentally and weren't draft worthy before, but now may be ahead of some of the kids that actually got drafted in the years they were eligible.

He's 24. He put up a point per game last year.

Because he's 24, his entry-level deal will be only for one year. He'll be UFA eligible after three seasons.

I guess I'll have to cheer for you guys if he ever makes it to the big club. Incredible to see a friend from high school go this far.

Congrats :)
