What are our stats with him out of the lineup? It's a small sample size, but it'll still be interesting to see the difference.
50.0 raw CF% in games where Glass hasn't played.
Games were Philly x2, LA, SJ, ANA, BUF, DET, TBL, FLA, VAN
The games that really stick out were that PATHETIC Detroit game where we only had 39% CF, 66.7% CF against Buffalo, and 40.5% CF against Vancouver. The team really sat back against Vancouver with a 3 goal lead going out of the 1st so I'm not surprised their corsi was garbage that game.
However, FF% close, which is believed to be the most telling possession metric, is 53.23% without Glass.
The difference being that fenwick doesn't take blocked shots into account. So if you think blocked shots are a good defensive play, you might want to believe fenwick over corsi.
FF% close is fenwick metrics in one-goal games in the 1st and 2nd period, and tied games going into the third period. This is accurate because it discards the negative metrics of teams sitting back and running out the clock, and desperate teams that pile shots on where they're already effectively out of the game. For example, our CF% against Vancouver was a paltry 40.5%. However, our FF% close was an astonishing 75%, indicating the Rangers pounded the Canucks early in the game when it was still up for grabs, and effectively ended the game after the score became 2-0, which was exactly the case.
