Here's my problem. MSG has blocked off all the rows in front and around me for group sales - which is leading to a crazy amount of away fans sitting there. One game against the Bruins, I was literally surrounded and it was very uncomfortable. Not only that, but the section itself is as quiet as a library. So my question is, do you think this is because I'm on the "defend twice" side? Those of you that are on the other end of the ice, do you have similar problems with away fans or is it just my section? Are other sections more rowdy?

I love my seats and my price point, but I wouldn't mind paying a little more if it means I can be next to other season ticket holders/ranger fans.

The Garden isn't what it used to be. High ticket prices have forced fans to resell more of their tickets, or give them up all-together. Pre-renovation, I knew everyone who sat around me, and saw them 25 times a year. Now, I am lucky to see the same person (who I don't really know) more than three times in a season, and I still go to about 20 games.

Save your money. Don't buy more expensive tickets. It's going to be hard to capture what no longer exists.

Hey guys - wanted to get your opinion on relocation. I am in Section 208 Row 15, Seats 11 and 12. My view is awesome, and I obviously have a great value being right on the price break. Also, seat #11 is actually right next to a concrete wall - so you never have anyone next to you - plus, you can stand and lean against the wall. It's pretty sweet! As an added bonus, my price is only $69 which is pretty phenomenal compared to what I'm reading in this thread.

Your issue is exactly what you outlined. Those corner 200’s higher rows are all held back for individual sales, group sales, etc. Those are the 200’s I see on the map most frequently.

Don’t go for more expensive seas because who knows if you’ll ever get that price point back. They’re excellent value. I get your problem but honestly not many season ticket holders go often or near as often anymore anyway. People have gone less and less or disappeared completely over the years near me.

All the folks that sit around me have had STH for 10-50 years and I would say I see about 10 regulars when I go. They have all started going less and less and selling more and more. I would say it's still a fun place to sit, but it's not like it was 20 years ago.

I would definitely want to move, but not sure you will be able to find that price point.

I moved to the section in 2014-15. Pre-reno, I recognized about 75% of the people sitting around me on a nightly basis. Not just immediately around me, but section 421, as well. Now? Aside from Larry and his friend, I never recognize anyone. Reminds me of Robert DeNiro's line at the end of Casino, "Back in the day, dealers knew your name. What you played, what you drank, what you bet. Now, a whale asks for a $10K marker and some 19-year old college student is asking for his social security number. And, if you try to order room service, you are lucky if you get it by Thursday."

Historically, almost everyone around me goes to the last home game of the season before the playoffs. Everyone pretty much says good bye, talks about what games they will or will not make, etc... We've seen people's kids group up going to games. I will say that the game experience a lot better when you know so many people in your section.

It definitely is. I was in 420 pre-reno, the guy who sat to my right was in my wedding party. I met him the first season I had tickets. Guys in front of me, I still talk to on fb. Lady 2 rows in front of me, I remember her nieces and nephews coming as 13, 14 year olds and now they are all grown. One of her nieces I remember when she was 4 or 5 and now she is about 23. Changed after, to the point that my wife even said she wanted to cancel. Said she doesn't like the atmosphere anymore and doesn't enjoy going. I started in 98, fresh off missing the play-offs. The team sucked for my first 6 seasons, but we always had a blast at the games.

Relocation season is now open for Knicks STHs

Looks like it's starting next week

Big news here is they are resetting everyone's account number and merging your team accounts (ie Knicks & Ranger & Liberty & whatever)

Is there a similar thread or board for Knicks STH similar to what we have here?

Will they charge us more if we don't have Liberty tickets?

Seems like they're doing a lot of housekeeping over there. Right now they're going through their entire emailing list asking people to confirm that they want to keep getting emails

I was in section 311 from 2000 till renovations..it was the same people in that section for all those years. Guy behind me became one of my closet friends and was in my wedding party. When they weren’t making the playoffs all those years everyone made sure to go to the last game of the season to say goodbye. One of the best parts of home opener was looking forward to seeing everyone for the first time in months. The team sucked for my first 6 years but it was still so much fun going to games hanging out with everyone. Everyone knew everyone in the section up top. Now it’s maybe 4 or 6 people I see on a regular compared to no lie 20-25. Miss those days!!

I was in 313 and 327 from 1998 to 2013 then went to 115 and 104 from 2014 up until last year....and guess what, smartest thing I ever did was drop the tickets last year, price got too high I could not sell my tickets and I started losing money, but from 1998 to 2013 had a blast with knowing all the people in my sections, last couple of years I never saw the same people twice. it is definitely not what it used to be.

Even before I had seasons. I was the guy who would go to ticketmaster the day the tickets went onsale at 6am with a bagel, chair, and book. Buy 6 or 7 games (or as many as I could with the cash I had the day they went on sale). I sat in the 400s, 90% of the time and always thought it was awesome that everyone in the different sections seem to know each other. This was 94, 95, 97

With the upcoming rebuild, I personally think demand will dip significantly. The Knicks are a great example of that.
Overall I'm sure you're right but the blue seats being the cheapest seats in the house will still command a premium like bleacher seats at yankee stadium.
