Calla graves, it's not really stats of the top 6 as much as it is depth. Do you remember what we looked like last season? Our bottom 6 is 3x better and more skilled in all areas than last year.

In the playoffs, teams with depth win. We have a great team-defense, solid, timely goaltending from a top 5 goalie in the league, and an offense with chemistry.

If Kreider comes back, I would love to see these lines:

Kreider-Richards-St.Louis
Hagelin-Stepan-Nash
Pouliot-Brassard-Zuccarello
Boyle-Moore-Dorsett
Carcillo

McD-G
Staal-Stralman
Moore-Klein
Diaz is too much of a liability defensively to play him consistent top 6 D minutes. Good PP specialist.

Diaz has no business being on the ice in OT, but other than that I think he's been very good.

Our depth is better. There's no denying that. I LOVE Boyle-Moore-Dorsset as a 4th line. They've been very, very good down the stretch.

As someone pointed out, the Zucc line has to be considered our 2nd line at this point. The Richards line hasn't done ANYTHING at even strength in a long time.

I don't feel comfortable with how our top players are playing. Nash has had his worst statistical season in a long time, MSL has had his worst stretch of play that I've ever seen, and Richards has one foot in the retirement home.

Honestly, Richards may be the most useful going forward, because of Philly's tendency to take more penalties than the refs can even call.

I'm just hopeful Stepan finds some of whatever he was drinking during the regular season last year.

That's a damn good third line that can play in both ends.

It's a line of players I very much like, but my god have they looked awful.

Fast gets a bit of a pass, he's a rookie, and he's playing like he's afraid to engage.

I think it's a wildly frustrating line.

Rangers played pretty good considering it was a meaningless game and they were resting players. They could have mailed it in but didn't.
One mistake by Diaz, I am over it already.

Agreed. We came there to play, I liked their plan despite a meaningless game.

Talbot will become a great goalie.

Diaz was on the ice because our top pairing was rested.

Isn't Stepan a point per game player over the last 13, 14 games? I could be understating that greatly. It may be more games.

Most painful meaningless game in the history of the world. Dominate the game, hit posts, miss empty nets then Diaz ****s up and trips Gionta. Man, worst way this game could have ended, shutout goes to **** on a ridiculous play by Diaz. I hate the fact that the Montrea/fans go home happy. I hope they get swept. Most obnoxious fan base in the NHL. Do they even gasp for air while the boo the whole game? Then they do their stupid Ole song because they think they're European. We were without our goalie, top 2 D-men, and 1st liner who has been heating up and this scrub team needed a ridiculous **** up by Diaz, and every bounce in the game to even win it.

You didn't mention that were resting our top defensive pairing and MSL. Montreal are still playing for home ice. We held them and played well.

Like I said: I thought the game was well played, but in the end, it ended beacuse of a stupid defensive play, and the Rangers' inability to produce a goal in over 60 minutes of hockey.

As for Zucc's gift goals, the player receiving the pass still has to put the ****er in.

....ok. My point is that Poo has been the recipent of some crazy passes, which he's capitalized on. Are you disagreeing just for the sake of being contrary?

You have legitimate concerns with Nash and MSL. I have no idea why you would bring up Fast being pointless. He has played a handful of games.

My concern is asking a player without a point in the NHL to play a top 6 roll in the playoffs is a very risky move. He'll be a good player for us, I think, but is he REALLY the best option?

Callahan is a piece of **** tool. His greedy ass can rot.

Rot where? Tampa? Yeah, I'm sure he's really "rotting" playing with Filppula and Palat.

What's your fixation on Callahan anyways? That's twice you've brought him into the conversation.

Stepan's been stellar down the stretch. There's no question there.

Not if we can't beat Price. Seriously. We're EASILY better than this scrub team except their goalie. Hockey is a great team sport that's dominated by one guy between the pipes, ugh.

Snow, that's the nicest thing you've ever said about Hank!:sarcasm:

I hate playing the Canadiens especially in Montreal. It seems like every time we go there the refs or the war room in Toronto find a way to **** us over. Not this time however. The Rangers actually played very well tonight considering they were without their top pairing.

I'd love to have Subban on our team but that guy is a real dick. How he gets away with as much **** as he does.

LOL at Micheletti talking how much he's going to miss Resch. Why do these people even bother?

You said that the Zucc line is our second line, so how is Fast in the top-6? Make up your mind.

I'm just having trouble stomaching Hags and Richie being a 3rd line.

But alright, asking Fast to play on a 3rd line is a bit more ok.

But that means Pouliot is in our top 6. No matter how good he's been the second half of the season (and, he has), that scares me just as much.

Our forward lineup is about depth. Some players may not be playing in an ideal position, but every one contributes, and there are effective players on every line.

Could always move MSL and Nash to separate lines as well.

Montreal has the most obnoxious fans in all of sports. I forget every time and get surprised whenever we play there. I really hope they get swept.

That would be ideal if Kreider came back. It would just be ideal if Kreids came back and started running people over again. I miss that.

I'm a fan of keeping Nash of the left for the time being. It makes me sad to say it, but the best thing it seems you could do for a forward right now is keep them far, far away from Brad Richards. He's been a great power-play player this year, but his even strength play has made me pull my hair out.

Don't really care about the game but, Diaz played like a complete ****ing moron. It looked like he literally dove to trip gionta and didn't swing at the puck at all.

You're actually blaming the wrong guy. According to AV it was Klein who made a mistake and caused the breakaway.

It would be like a penalty shot whether Diaz tripped him or not. Diaz actually did the right thing based on the situation, when he tried to go for the puck.

Did the Rangers really get many good scoring chances on those 40 shots. I dont remember Price having much of a tough night other than volume. I think the good chances we had we missed and otherwise anything else Price would have let in would have been a softie goal.

I thought we had some good chances, not too many GREAT chances. Our best chances we either the post(s) or missed the net. A couple of times we had good chances but Price was out so far that they looked like nothing chances. We still outplayed them by a lot, although they did have that breakaway and then the fateful penalty shot. I don't think this is an example of a game where we got no good chances, but we certainly didn't get an overabundance of A chances. We've had better games in that sense. But the Rangers played very very well given the circumstances. I was really impressed and proud.
