Whatever. We were clearly the better team today

Montreal is a far worse than their record indicates. Out in no more than 6.

Zucc wins the internal point league with 59 then.

I thought this was a really anonymus game from the entire team. No one played bad, everyone played better than Montreal, no one scored.

Dat trip tho. DAT trip

I agree with this. They played over their heads this year. They are more pesky than dangerous.

How so? Cuz your precious Callahan got traded? We're a good team. We were depleted tonight and still put up a good fight in a tough building.

...riiight. I mentioned anything about Callahan. Ok.

We were shutout, and lost the game on a needless defensive error. The game up until that was fairly even, but that was a stupid, careless turnover.

To me, this season is personified by timely scoring and mind boggling defensive lapses. The only other way this game could have ended was Pouliot getting a gift goal via an unreal feed from Zucc. That didn't happen.

And no, I don't feel good going into the playoffs. Richards is only good on the powerplay, MSL can't buy goal with Nash's paycheck, and Nash scored at a 50 point pace this year. Hags hasn't shown any offensive spark in some time, and Jesper Fast, much as I want to like him, doesn't have a POINT in the NHL. Stepan's been good.

Yeah, That's our top six. Real confidence inspiring.

Zucc is my favorite forward at this point, but asking your 3rd line to be primary scoring in the playoffs is a recipe for disaster

I thought we played well today. Even without 2 of our top defensemen and 1 of our top players, we took it to Montreal.

A "meaningless" game turned out to be not so meaningless, at least on the ice.

Rangers played pretty good considering it was a meaningless game and they were resting players. They could have mailed it in but didn't.
One mistake by Diaz, I am over it already.

Ugh, I hope Diaz got that out of his system, that can't happen in the playoffs. It showed everything wrong with his game in a 5 second span.

Even without McDonagh, St.Louis, and Girardi, the Rangers controlled the game. price was terrific. A touch of homecooking for Montreal. Bizarre ending. No injuries. Lets roll!

Calla graves, it's not really stats of the top 6 as much as it is depth. Do you remember what we looked like last season? Our bottom 6 is 3x better and more skilled in all areas than last year.

In the playoffs, teams with depth win. We have a great team-defense, solid, timely goaltending from a top 5 goalie in the league, and an offense with chemistry.

If Kreider comes back, I would love to see these lines:

Kreider-Richards-St.Louis
Hagelin-Stepan-Nash
Pouliot-Brassard-Zuccarello
Boyle-Moore-Dorsett
Carcillo

McD-G
Staal-Stralman
Moore-Klein
Diaz is too much of a liability defensively to play him consistent top 6 D minutes. Good PP specialist.

Habs were hemmed in their own zone for long stretches in this game. The only thing that kept this from being over in regulation was the iron, which the Rangers struck twice.

Props to the guys for showing up to play tonight even with a half assed lineup (this was a much, much better effort than they had two nights ago with a full lineup) but if you think these guys were going all out you're kidding yourself.

The Rangers played with more intensity tonight for a meaningless game than they did at home these past few games when they had something to play for, so weird.

They played well but they just can't score against the Habs, I think they scored only one goal against Budaj/Price all year.

No McD, no Girardi, no Hank, no MSL, no Kreider. Still bummed we didn't scored any goals but it seemed like a great decision getting those players rest.

Time to activate GOD mode.

i love how Nash is already dressed in a button up shirt and all whilst the other rangers are still in t-shirts and what not. I guess he didn't have to shower after the game again.

You didn't mention that were resting our top defensive pairing and MSL. Montreal are still playing for home ice. We held them and played well.

As for Zucc's gift goals, the player receiving the pass still has to put the ****er in.

You have legitimate concerns with Nash and MSL. I have no idea why you would bring up Fast being pointless. He has played a handful of games.

Callahan is a piece of **** tool. His greedy ass can rot.

dat game misconduct :shakehead

Can't be too upset, though. As others have said, considering the players we were missing, getting that game to OT and controlling the play for the most part was impressive.

Bring on Philly :)
