If I were betting the Capitals will knock off the Isles whichever team has home ice advantage. The series might go another game or two if the Isles have home ice--so I'd prefer that.

Holtby is just a better goalie than Halak and so many of the Isles key players have less than 10 playoff games experience. I think it's going to tell and the Isles have been dropping like a stone for a while.

Anyway back to today's game--after Hayes scored the Rangers were in control of the game the rest of the way. Caps needed this game a lot worse than us but could only muster a decent attack sporadically and we didn't have either Nash or Staal in the lineup. They were missing a couple guys too but not ones nearly on that level.

It was an impressive performance by the Rangers.

“@NYRangers: #NYR @HLundqvist30 now has at least 30 wins in 9 of his first 10 NHL seasons, becoming the 1st goalie in NHL history to accomplish the feat.â€

In my opinion he has 10 straight with those numbers. 2013 he had 24 wins in 43 games. Pro-rated, that's a little over 45.

I want the Caps/Isles series to go the full 7 games with 3-4 of them multi OT thrillers.

I want them to physically terrorize each other for the duration of the series.

I don't care who wins so long as the above happens.

Team:
1st in points (113)
1st in wins (53)
1st in regulation/OT wins (49)
3rd in goals scored (252)
3rd in goals conceded (192)
1st in goal differential (+60!!!)
5th in home record 25-11-5)
1st in away record (28-11-2)
3rd in last 10 record (7-3-0)
best record against the West (18-5-5)

Misc:
Ohw, and the Columbus Blue Jackets have a 9-0-1 record in their last 10. That 1 loss... Against us!
We are also the only team to be in the top3 goals scored and goals conceded
Only team together with Anaheim in the top5 home and away records
Franchise record for wins
Franchise record for points
3rd President's Trophy for the Rangers
3rd President's Trophy for Alain Vigneault
2nd President's Trophy for Tanner Glass (Just sayin')
Biggest lead on the next best division rival with 12 points. 2nd best is Anaheim with 8 points on Vancouver.
3 goalies combined for 11 shutouts
First time ever in franchise history to have 2 goalies with 5 shut outs (Talbot, Lundqvist). Skapski also has 1.

Individual:
Derick Brassard with 60 points
Rick Nash with 42 goals
Chris Kreider with 46 points
Kevin Hayes with 45 points (As a 3rd line rookie center!)
Kevin Klein with 9 goals and 26 points
Tanner Glass equals a career low -12 rating. On a team with +60, that won the President's Trophy

I looked up all time road wins and we tied a record. Our 58 road points is 2nd all time to the 98-99 Devils (of course the Devils) with 59.

That would be ideal. Think it works best if the Isles have the extra home game. Holtby is better than Halak IMO. The Caps have plenty more playoff experience than the Isles. If the Caps have it the series might be over in 5.
