#NYR head coach Alain Vigneault says Ryan McDonagh is out 3 to 4 weeks and has been placed on the IR, says Klein won't play tomorrow.

They'll need to call up two players for tomorrow.

They looked pretty good last night against the Avs. Elliott played a very strong third period, OT and shootout, which is all I managed to see.

Hard to expect too much from this team right now. If the forwards play like they did last night we'll still have a chance to win. Really excited to see McIlrath get an extended look, as well as see if Staal finds his form on the top pairing for a while. The added responsibility might be just what he needs: the toughest assignments, big minutes, and a partner in Girardi that allows him to be the puck mover of the pairing. Really excited to see how he handles it because I think he steps up.

Pretty sure he's still practicing non-contact. I'd be shocked to see him in tomorrow. On top of that, there's really no reason to rush him back yet. It makes more sense to make sure he's as close to 100%. We have a full season ahead of us.

Allen has a cap hit of like 600k. McI close to 1 mill, I believe.

Excited to see both McI and Allen. Love both as prospects.

See both as 2nd line defenders eventually. McIlrath w/ a Douglas Murray ceiling - IMO. Allen tougher to read. Some nights he's excellent. Some nights... I don't know what is going on.

If the first game of the season was any indication - perhaps it is a good thing we have McI in the line up.
