I'm sitting right here, you know.Fayettevilles finest, J. Cole.
Hey Guys....sorry to hi-jack your conversation. I figured this would be the place to ask. I'm a Winnipeger in town for business and am looking for a sports bar that would have the Predators Jets game 7 on tomorrow night. I'm staying close to the airport. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!
If you're looking for a sports bar in that they'll have both beer and food, your best options are Carolina Ale House and Wild Wing Cafe. They're both in Brier Creek, the major shopping area adjacent to the airport. A little further out (but still a relatively short Uber ride away) is Lynnwood Grill. Another option, just a little further away from Lynnwood is House of Hops. They're a bottle shop with a pretty good draft selection that includes local and regional beers, friendly bartenders who'll likely have hockey on (or will put it on if you ask). They don't have food of their own but they welcome outside food and Thursday night they usually have food trucks. Per the schedule it looks like the truck scheduled for tomorrow is Morfa Empanadas. Thursday nights are their trivia nights but you can still catch the game while that's going on.
The Brickbouse is about a fifteen minute drive from RDU and is very hockey friendly.Hey Guys....sorry to hi-jack your conversation. I figured this would be the place to ask. All the recommendations upthread have been good. Additionally, I would be surprised if ANY bar didn’t have that game on. This area might not be as hockey crazy as Winnipeg, but that game is easily tomorrow’s biggest sporting event.
@Jeremy Fisette I like Buffalo Brothers on Lake Boone Trail near the Rex Hospital but that might be more out of your range travel-wise than you'd like, it's not bad but Brier Creek as GP pointed out is closer. The guys who own that restaurant franchise are big Hockey fans. There's one in Cary somewhere too FWIW.
How can you forget about tomorrow nights NBA playoff action dude!
Oh wait every 2nd round series ended in 5 you say? Nevermind.

Is it just coincidence that you wrote this within the conversation which included the town of Cary, NC, or perhaps you are blowing my mind because you know that Cary is an acronym for Containment Area for Relocated Yankees?I kind of like the suggested idea that the contained Yankees have a secret sportsbar in undisclosed location somewhere in their hoods where to watch hockey in.
Latter. I do keep my ears open. Once I'll learn to also keep my mouth shut, I'll be a force to reckon with.Is it just coincidence that you wrote this within the conversation which included the town of Cary, NC, or perhaps you are blowing my mind because you know that Cary is an acronym for Containment Area for Relocated Yankees?
I'm going with the latter. You continue to amaze me, Lempy.
That's #satin's girl, dude. Gotta respect bro code.I though we were doing Garner on the other thread.
ESPN will still devote 90% of its coverage to NBA. Maybe they’ll run the NSH/WPG score across the bottom at some point.
Edit: Oh wait, there’s a Yankees/Red Sox game on. So make it 40% breathless coverage of a May baseball game, and 55% off-day basketball.

It pains me though that I can't remember the witty acronym nor the name of the other place where they are starting to stack Yankees nowadays that Cary has been nearly filled up.
Yes, it was Clayton I was thinking about. This post from era when Hank was still clever and not angry:Clayton.
Containment location area Yankees to own next.
Apex.
Area produces ex-yankees.
No. Cary is full. You might consider Clayton: Cary Like Area Yankees Trying Out Now.
Speaking of Clayton... any thoughts on the best place to catch Caps/Knights on Thursday in Garner/Clayton/Smithfield? I definitely want to be able to hear the game, and watching it with other Caps fans, or at least hockey knowledgeable fans, would be great. My best guess is Carolina Ale House in White Oak, but thought you all might have some additional thoughts.
Buffalo Wild Wings in White Oak is another option. I've caught a few games there in the past. Cleveland draft house in Clayton might be closer but I've never watched a game there and I think they have a trivia night on Thursday's, but you can call and ask.
