Black Book had him @ #30.

Thier scouts either loved him or hated him.

Good reviews:
"He's a hybrid of Tyler Motte and Kailer Yamamoto"
"Smart, and works his tail off every shift"
"Pissed off ay myself for not realizing how good he is earlier in this process. The worst part is that he's the type of player I value and absolutely love, especially going back to my coaching days"

Bad Reviews:
"Another said he works hard but ha zero translatable skill. Not really on thier radar."
"Lack foo high end skill will keep him from being a regular on the top two lines"

Great pick. And damn near one of the youngest players in the draft. Is he going to play the WJC this summer?

...we always have a ton of positive posts on these picks... I'd like to hear a more realistic take.
sometimes the fact are promising
he's 17,
had a contributing role on Nat'l team at (Men's) Worlds,
and was first overall in the CHL Import draft

no one is saying he's 'can't miss'
he doesn't have size, or huge O skills, and plays mostly (it seems) on wing

It kind of feels dirty to have a sykora. I just think Devils when i hear that name.

Kid sounds good though. Heres hoping he can become a solid middle sixer

Don't love the sound of this just based on the tiny sample of scoring reports.

I would always rather have skill and coach intangibles than have intangibles and hope offense just develops from somewhere.

I hope this isn't another instance where we find out the guy is bouncing all over the ice like pitbull because he just can't skate.

This all DOES sound good... but would still agree that he had to drop as far as this for reasons, be they good ones or not, and I'd be interested to know what those were.

Know nothing about him but everyone who knows something seems to like him so that's good. Based on his scouting reports his skillset is something the Rangers need although who knows what they will look like by the time he's an NHL option.

He's skilled but not crazy about his size...Tampa Bay's size got to us as that series progressed...

Wow I love this pick! I think someone on this board mentioned him recently so I looked into him some more.

Love the pick from what I’m reading. It’s sounds like he has the tools and mindset to be a tenacious bottom sizer with an outside chance for more. In this draft getting an NHL regular or two would be huge huge considering lack of a 1st and draft quality.
