It might be best to just give him his QO and let him sign in Europe for a year. He gets away from the stench of the Oilers and gets top minutes in a Euro league. When he’s back either the Oilers have cleaned house and are a better team or he hopefully ups his trade value.

I say buy him now and tell him ‘you have until Pastrnak gets back to prove you deserve to be in the NHL. Talk to him. Ask him what he did and has to do to be where he is. Talk to Bergeron, Krejci and Chara. Sponge it all in. If you can’t provide what we’re looking for by the time Pastrnak gets back you’ll go to the AHL and learn from them and try to beat Senyshyn for a spot next season.’
