Anyone else read this article? Here's a quick summary of the Rangers tidbits:

Nash not to blame in playoffs. Reasonable to think the Rangers should trade him because he's 30 and won't reach 40 goals again plus he has a 7.8 cap hit, but shouldn't trade him because of his playoff "failings."

Marty is done.

Lundqvist just had his best shot and the Rangers blew it. It's hard to imagine NYR being able to fix this team's flaws before Hank is trending down.

"[Things] went right for the Rangers all season — thus the Presidents' Trophy — and even deep into the playoffs. But this is a team that just isn't good; it's certainly a little better than okay, but anyone who thinks this year's performance wasn't an anomaly needs a brain scan.

How much longer an you expect him to be so far above world class that the Rangers can even get close to competing? What can Glen Sather do to reasonably improve this team given his current constraints?"

EDIT: Forgot the link.

Am I biased, or is this a little too harsh when it comes to evaluating the Rangers. Are we a perfect team? Of course not. Are we the best team heading into next season. Likely no. But not being a good team?! Ouch.

Lundqvist was his usual excellent self. But i disagree if the commentator is saying Lundqvist was stealing games left and right all season. He missed a third of the season, for one.
No. This is a very good team. And i expect them to remain so.

Way over the top. Of course the Rangers are a great team.

This team (and last year's team) aren't like the Torts or Renney Rangers where Lundqvist had to be perfect for us to win. It may have been like that throughout the playoffs but certainly not the regular season. We were 3rd in the league in goal scoring. What the hell is this guy talking about?

Apparently making it to the ECF three out of the last four years with a SCF trip last year isn't what makes a "good team". Thanks for telling us what we already know... They're a GREAT team.

Hah, people say Rangers fans are biased towards the team, they are biased against the team, , just because we struggled in the playoffs doesn't mean we suck, especially since we got the best goalie in the world(not being biased on this statement, if you think about it, Lundqvist is a lot more clutch then Price...)

Nothing but an opportunist article. Take a team thats had a really strong run the last 4 years, never won a Cup, and might be entering the tail end of their window, and tell people they're not that good.

In reality, despite the President's trophy, I never felt this year's team was better than the 2013-2014 squad, especially from a depth perspective. That said, they still went to game 7 of the ECF.

Click bait. Crap on a big market team with success and people will read it and link to it.

There's no argument to be made that this team, with its resume the past 4 or 5 years isn't good. Just idiocy. How is this year an aberration when they went even further just last year?

Where is this article?

If you're talking about the team eulogy, that is done for every team when they are knocked (be it reg season or playoffs), they're all done tongue in cheek.

No, sadly it is not the eulogy, which was written by the SB Nation Isles guy. Highlight of his season.

Given the Rangers recent track record of going deep in the playoffs an article this is pretty pointless.

And yes the window is completely closing on new york. Kevin Hayes wont at all improve from this seasons breakthrough, as well as Skjei coming of age. Losing MSL wont be a big blow to the team given what he brought to the table this year.

If anything the Rangers window is improving next season

There were three parts, Nash, Hank, and Defense.

He was crapping on the team defense, specifically the back end, and how Hank masks it. In that respect he isn't far from wrong. Other than that he stuck up for Nash and Hank in a douchy way.

Hyperbole of course (it's not an opinion, but flat out wrong to say we're not good lol) but none of the specific points he brought up were particularly wrong...

A week of reflecting doesn't take the bad taste out of my mouth. The team pieced together maybe 2 complete games this entire post season. That is pathetic.

We have so much skill, speed and youth, but we have far too many guys who are dumb as rocks and mentally weak out there. Even Hank, for all his heroics this post season, let us down a few times against Tampa.

Land of no calls..
Reads like something that would have fit in on this board the day after the ECF loss. No idea why they let that clown right for a somewhat respectable hockey blog.

What stupidity. Despite not winning the Cup, the Rangers are probably top 5 most successful teams over the past 5 years.

I would say that LA, Boston, and Chicago are probably the only ones that have been more so.

The Rangers are a flawed team, but they are also an elite team.

defends rick nash. written like a guy who's not a fan of the nyr but wants to get a rise.

he brings up possession stuff and points per game. all legit. but as has been said around here ad nauseum, nash played like an extremely overpaid 3rd line grinder again this playoff. need him to score goals. best player needs to step up thing. a few rick nash goals and were playing for the cup.

grampa is toast. yes we know. good journalistic risk there bro.

hank deserved better. gotcha. hes getting older. yup. see above.

some of his takes are plain stupid. he makes like the presidents trophy was lucky and meant nothing. how exactly does the presidents trophy mean things "went right" ?? did we win a lottery or something. i would say thats 82 games of pretty damn good right there.

and lastly, he bangs our defense pretty hard. 19 goals in 41 playoff games is 2.1 gpg. since when is that terribad? pretty dooshy.

he calls our defense "porous" um check the numbers for the entire season clown.

187 ga over 82 games is 2.28 and 3rd in the entire league. chi was 1 better and montreal 3 better. clown.

league leading 11 shutouts. porous my arse

.689 winning % best in league. clown

this teams defense is NOT the problem. are they over paid ? yes, probably. are they a primarily veteran defense ? definitely. and thus, they will tend to be over paid.

this group has 1 more year together before wholesale changes occur. but to say they are porous is down right stupid and smacks of some type of non objective, stat ignoring agenda drivel.

our defense is the envy of most teams and obviously this guys not a fan.

Yeah, that and if Zuccarello is healthy and 5 of our top 6 aren't battling injuries, this team is still playing right now.

Don't even click the article.

Except for this:

He's not wrong?
