New York Islanders would like to formally announce another trade.
Aaron Ness
PHX 3rd Rounder (87 overall)
Cory Sarich
In Sarich, the Islanders have acquired another physical defenseman who will certainly help protect our young players. Aaron Ness was tough to give up, but the progress made by defensive prospects Calvin DeHaan, Travis Hamonic, Matt Donovan, and Blake Kessel meant Ness could be moved.
So far, the Islanders have acquired Brett Connolly, Patrik Berglund, Patrice Bergeron, Barret Jackman, Cory Sarich, and David Runblad while moving down in the second and trading another second, a third, a fifth, Jeff Tambellini, Bruno Gervais, and prospects Anders Lee and Aaron Ness. Overall, the Islanders are very happy and look to contend for the playoffs as early as next season.
