Caps' rights to Eric Florchuk (7th round, 2018) and Alex Kannok-Leipert (6th round, 2018) are expiring June 1.
I don't know enough about either player to adequately guess whether or not the team will (try to) sign them.
Don’t know about Florchuk but for clubs that aren’t that deep on defense it would seem that Kannok-Leipert might be worth considering in the 2020 draft.
The Capitals figure to have a logjam on D in Hershey if everyone is healthy and some of their European prospects come over.
Obviously, playing with Bowen Byram and a veteran Giants team it is easier to look good but he was both a team captain and a steady defender while chipping in at times and providing some hardness on the backend.
