No Garland in the Moncton game last night - anybody know why?

The team has a "merit" system in place where the coach grades every player every game and the lowest grade gets sat out the following game. Garland actually went to the coach and said he deserved to sit yesterday. Props to him.

Roger Shannon , GM of the Wildcats, actually confirmed this yesterday as well.

The billionaire owner bought a junior team so his kid could play. His kid isn't good enough to play junior though and team is at the start of a rebuild. Tried to fire coaching staff early in the season for not playing his kid. Team revolted and demanded coaching staff be reinstated. OHL stepped in and orchestrated their re-hiring (3 year extensions) along with assurances ownership won't intervene. Kid sat out again and coaches fired a few months later. Players revolt. OHL steps in and suspends owner.

This is going to get ugly.

Coyotes prospects well represented (the rankings are per conference)

Strome #1 smartest, #1 best on Faceoffs, #1 best shootout shooter, # 2 best playmaker
Dvorak #2 most dangerous in goal area, #2 best shootout shooter, #3 best on Faceoffs
McInnis #2 best defensive forward

Did get Best Shootout Shooter though with Dvorak right behind him in that category as well. Too bad the shootout doesn't matter as much anymore

New Coyote prospect Wood was voted hardest shot (by a majority).

Bottom 6 guy w potential. I think if he wanted to come over we would saying him. AHL $ vs SHL $ is the issue.

Jets fans started a poll to compare Marner and Connor (mostly to see TML fans go ape****). It inevitably turned to comments about Marner "carrying" his linemates.

Seems like with Wood and Mayo going pro next year, along with Hache and Mermis playing bottom pairings on the left side, he might be better off staying for his senior season.

Seems like you guys don't ever talk about him, but Connor Clifton is turning into a real nice defenseman for Quinnipiac. Yesterday he was awarded most outstanding player of the ECAC tournament. He's a quick, physical and fairly mobile defenseman.
