Still saying will be more than surprised if someone is even interested in PAP. Vastly overated in Toronto market. Feather in the wind!

You think guy who is on pace for over 20 goals while driving possession won't have a single team interested in him?

He's not going to get a 1st, but this is the "miracle" thread.

We need a young goalie, but perhaps Lou wants to stink for another year, or possibly two more, but Lou knows goaltending all too well. Better than anyone.

He sacrificed a first round pick for a heckuva goalie.

He might break some hearts at some point by doing it again in Toronto, but probably not before he believes we can contend.

I think Jersey would like to get Parenteau. They need him.

Perhaps another young goalie that could be on Lou's radar, is Malcolm Subban? I don't mean trading a 1st for him, or anything, just that he might be a goalie the Leafs could target. :)

Getting Samsonov (Wash) and Larsson (Ana) as future building blocks (Taking on Laich/Stoner contracts while dealing Komorov and Bozak to sweeten the pot for a pair of needs based blue chippers). Both orgs are deep /set at future with respective prospects ...ie Holtby, Lindholm, Fowler, Vatenen,'
Despres; Theodore and Montour in the pipeline....

he's on pace for over 20 goals because he's on an incredibly weak team, getting top 6 shifts, and getting the most PP time on the leafs.

on a real team that has playoff aspersions that simply is not going to happen.

If Stamkos wants 8 years @ 10 million = 80 million over 10 years

“no player may be eligible to contract for or receive in excess of 20% of the Club’s upper limit in total annual compensation (NHL salary plus signing, roster, reporting and all performance bonuses).”

15 million is max money

1 @ 15 million + 7 years @ 9.3 million = 80 million over 10 years

Pay crazy for 1 year, save 700k per year over the next 7 years.

or

2 @ 15 million + 6 years @ 8.3 million = 80 million over 10 years

Shipping out Reimer, all but guaranteeing us a top 3 pick. Love you Lou.

Leaving us with this guy, to lead the tank.

Like a handshake type deal? Or sign the first one and immediately extend?

Phone call:

Steve Yzerman: So you'll trade us Kadri straight up for Drouin?

Lou Lamoriello: Yeah, get that fax in?

Steve Yzerman: Done. Good luck with Drouin, talented, but terrible attitude that kid. Not sure why you wanted to make this deal.

Lou Lamoriello: Had to make room on center for the Stamkos signing.

Hunwick playing in a game just before the trade deadline is mildly curious. I'll call a package of PAP and Hunwich to a Western Conference team. As soon as after tonight's game.

1st miracle was dealing Phaneuf without salary retention, while taking on salary that's no where near the same term.

2nd miracle was getting two 2nd rounders for Polak and Spaling and a contract that'll be off the books next season.

3rd miracle . . . let's see . . . possibilities (and this is just for the trade deadline):
1) Bernier dealt for a 3rd rounder and no salary retained (maybe we take back an overpaid roster player?)
2) Parenteau + a throw in gets us a mid round 1st (I don't think this is happening, but . ..)
3) Boyes for a 4th.
4) Grabner for a 2nd?

I trust in Lou to think of another miracle I haven't!

Grabner for anything more than a 4th would be the mother of all trades.
