I don't get reasons why keep Subban around one more year. Not just the softies but the strategy of keeping a guy you think has promise but there's no way he's around long term. Just makes no sense to me. Even if you can't trade him just let someone claim him, use the spot to develop your other options.

The VGK commitment to Malcolm puzzles me. Starting his third season with us, and we know what he is. He's not improving in consistency that I can see. End of last regular season when Flower had the LBI (paternity leave), Malcolm played the last nine games (I think), and he wasn't very good. So getting to play regularly, which some use to excuse him, doesn't seem to be the answer.

Hate thinking that we have to score 4 or 5 every time Malcolm's in net just to have a chance to win. Are we going to ride Flower so hard again this season? Or just concede points whenever Malcolm plays?

Just thinking out loud.
