preseason is one of those things that i'm like "Tell me when there is real hockey" but this time i'm actually kind of excited. Do you know if i can stream it?

i think necas will be special if he gets one more year of conditioning. great to keep him at camp and have him be one of the last ones cut but he needs to be one of the last ones cut. we don't need to rush him like we did hanifin and lindholm. This preseason will be fun just to watch necas. It's fate that he ended up in north carolina. bad weather... hurricanes... could he be our saving grace of that first line center role in 2-3 years? I think he could. He seems like a more refined mackinnon where he can actually take it slow for a little bit instead of "skate fast the whole game" If he does become that mackinnon that can slow down and be a #1 C i think all of our problems will be solved. except for upcoming big time contracts and our low cap hit. other than that we will be on our way to the ECF & the SCF. Thats if darling becomes that starter we desperately need

Fluery - TVR
Saarela - Necas - Jooris

Most interested to see. Hopefully that bottom pair clicks. The forward line screams "Guys fighting for a spot on the team". They should come out flying.

And by "see" I mean read about, I guess, because I don't see it televised anywhere.

Cam Ward already starting in place of Darling in the first game. Who had the under? :sarcasm:

Preseason throwaway pairings. Bean will be worth a look as he plays against NHL'ers, but sticking him out there with Wesley is a little unfair.

fleury - tvr

All signs are this is our third pairing. Two guys who have not only never played with each other before, but are new to the roster (more or less, in Fleury's case).

I'm not expecting too much in their first audition, but this one will be interesting to watch.

skinner - ryan -pdg

Skinner/Ryan should be fun to watch in a preseason context... should be up and down the ice all night. PDG really needs to show well in a role like this one, supporting skill players with lots of ice time. If he doesn't contribute in this context, he might end up being the odd man out when it comes time for cuts.

jooris - necas - saarela

Heh. I think we're all looking forward to this.

mcginn - pots - miller
tolchinsky - wallmark - hoffman

More preseason silliness. McGinn's the only guy here who I'm confident is relevant to the future of the Hurricanes. Maybe Pots or Wallmark could force their way in with a really strong development curve, but I'm not betting on it, and the rest I've given up on already.

Two things I see when I look at the rosters listed: first, the Sabres' line up looks very NHL heavy compared to ours, and our roster looks setup for a bunch of cuts after the game. I think the coaching staff and management are looking to get down to a more manageable number in camp really quickly.

I think I heard Chuck K say on the radio this morning it would be streamed on fox sports go or somewhere but I can't find it, But you can definitely hear it on wralsportsfan.com he said.

Currently trying to find the interview to clarify.

Yeah, but that's just because you're biased against Hofmann. :sarcasm:

From the Buffalo board, their lines tonight:

Girgensons-ROR-Okposo

Griffith-ERod-Pu
Smith-Criscuolo-Bailey

Guhle-Risto
McCabe-Fedun
Goloubef-Nelson

Looks like radio only on their end too.

shame about no video.. would be nice if there were at least an arena feed or something

They sometimes appear at or around game time. It may not be streamed, but I don't think it's a guarantee that it won't be, either, official statements notwithstanding.

Let's hope for no injuries.

I get some reason behind pretty much everyone on the roster that they either want to get a better look at or fighting for a roster or "first callup" spot...but why Wesley? Just so he can play a game...pure nepotism? Why not McKeown or...ANYONE else?

I agree, we have a deep enough bench of D that be seems a bit weak as a roster choice. And especially sticking him next to Bean feels like a way to make them both fail.

My only thought is, maybe he's played well enough to survive first cuts and this is a direct audition for the second round.
