Todays game bleeps

Since David Perron stood up and made it clear there needs to be more accountability (heaven help us with the honesty here) Mact and his boys (hall, nuge, eberle and Schultz) started building a rail line to run him out of town

Oilers are on a 7 game losing streak and have yet to win against a western team and they will be hard pressed to beat the Preds today

Oilers are 6-14-2 for 14pts
Preds are 14-5-2 for 30 pts

not going to bore everyone with the head to head overall match ups

but it goes withoutsaying the preds on paper should mop the floor with the oilers tonight--so that means there is a slight chance the preds may take the night off
but the way the oilers have been playing--the only way they will win is if the preds fail to show up

and what would turkey

Putting all of my easily earned vcash on Nashville. They're sending my vkids to vcollege.

LOL
Always love the Simpsons references.

Yeah, Nashville is going to steamroll us tomorrow. After they get up 3-0 they'll sit back and we may get a goal or two, making it look like we were/are in the game, but that will only be because they backed off.

I say it'll be 4-2. They go up 3-0, we get 2, then they put it away with an EN goal. Maybe that even being too kind to this team.

They won't sleep on us. Certainly not in the 1st period. Everyone in the league knows that it's easy to beat us if you play hard against us in the first period. If Nashville sleeps for the second and third period there's a chance we tie it up, but I wouldn't count on it. They've got something we haven't: Defence and goaltending.

solid prediction. course, something tells me the ball is gonna drop tomorrow. We might be down a couple players (Peron, Petry)

4-0 Nashville

the odds are that this is NOT a winnable game, and the best to hope for is something close and a solid effort.

getting it to overtime or a shoot out, that's a lot to ask. So a 1-goal loss on the order of 3-4 would be a "win".

need "some" offense, 3 plus goals, to generate a little hope for the future. And something like a PP goal or no short handed goals would be a bonus. And no bad goaltending would be a blessing too.

Your joking right? The best hope is for us to continue blowing up, it may take our own players stripping logos off their jerseys to give our management the boot so let's keep the fiasco going as long as we can. Any sign of mediocrity and our dreams of a well run organization are destroyed. The season is gone, time to take our hits like a champ until it's so embarrassing that even uttering the words Lowe and Mac T warrant a suspenion in the organization and at the end of our pain and sorrow we will have our 'generational talent' with fresh faces overseeing the operations.

Are Eberle and Schultz gone yet?

Schultz please. Not Eberle, he's leading the team in pts and was the best of the 3 on the top line vs Dallas
We will absolutely regret trading J. Ebs

If he is as valuable as you guys think he is, we will be laughing.

5-1 Preds. 2-0 after the first where Fasth lets one in from the opposing teams ringette line or Scrivens goes to play the puck and puts it on the tape to Weber to get the ball rolling. 2nd Pred goal is a shortie as Schultz sends a muffin with a 3 second hang time towards the goal, puck still in play and his line mates change with him staring into space wondering if he missed the Kenny Chesney concert.

All Preds from there until Pinizzotto scores a working man's goal busting his ass in a scrum in front of the net.

Nashville goes up late in the 3rd on a soft play by Petry/Marancin/Eberle/Purcell/Schultz/ or perhaps all 5 and some plunk we've never heard of scores an easy goal as he's left in front of the net alone.

We mount our patented desperate comeback with 7 minutes left in the 3rd but Eakins pulls his goalie with 5 minutes left and the players think it's party time on ice, fall asleep and Preds get 2 EN goals. But we still play our best hockey with no goalie.

That's what's gonna happen.

The golden children have been pretty consistent in defending Eakins. Maybe they've seen the results of Smid and now Perron, they don't want to go to a coach who will 'hold them accountable' and they have the most air time. Get an interview with the voices disguised and the player in shadow and might be a whole different story.

Also, like that your username is hope backwards

I'll probably watch the late NFL game instead. Two good teams, divisional rivals, playoff implications. Almost guaranteed to be a much more entertaining use of my evening than watching the Oilers bite the curb in Nashville.
