It’s very factual because you totally backed up what you were saying with facts. It’s definitrly not just your opinion. You know even though Nuge is like 7 years younger and actually good defensively. Not to mention cheaper. Also DeSmith is 4 years older and has played in 28 less games. He also has worse GAA AND SV%. So how exactly is DeSmith equal to Saros?

This is the reason the Predators fans/GM would laugh this trade out of the building. Saros is probably the best goalie around his age and has been with the team for years. Why would we let him go for anything less than an absolute star player?

Glad you aren't the GM . Also I don't know how you can speak for a GM who hasn't even been hired .

The Oilers have their 2 star players signed McDavid and Draisaitl . We are not taking another big contract . We need to acquire some depth so the last thing we need to to add another 9 million on a aging D man .

You are always saying what the Oilers will do with no consideration for their cap . Unless it is a dollar for dollar trade we are not doing a deal . Even if it is dollar for dollar we can not trade a forward of unless it is a useless one . RNH can not be traded unless we acquire another proven 2C 1st . No one is taking Lucic until July 1st 2020 when he is owed 10 million over 3 years and even then the Oilers will have to retain 50% most likely .

Remember trades aren't made in a vacuum . In real life there are many factors .

I have fans of other teams telling me all the time I am one of the most level headed Oilers fans who don't over value our assets . The point of making a trade for any team is to 1) get better by addressing an area of weakest , 2) To clear cap as player price themselves off a cup contender .... See Chicago moves over the years 3) To clear out players for picks to enter a rebuild .

Now if we look at your trade . Losing RNH makes us better how ? It like fans saying always this guy or that guy wonder be a 50 goal scorer with McDavid . Hall did not gel with McD and Eberle did not and these guys were proven scores . I get if someone say RNH contract is up in 2 and he is going to price himself out of Edmonton I get the argument . I also would move any player if the deal is right . RNH +2019 1st + for Zibanejab and Kreider , but cap say hi and it not enough for NYR to say yes to .

Are you high ??? Kessel alone is worth way more the RNH and you want us to also include A decent back up in Desmith and a serviceable 3rd liner in Simon. This might be the worst trade proposal I have ever seen on HFA

Older and declining, a ghost when it comes to even strength, liability defensively in all zones (even on the PP now), you have it backwards Kessel isnt worth RNH. A declining one dimensional Kessel isnt worth a center that is younger, actually knows what the defensive zone looks like, doesnt have lazy issues, all the while only having a small enough gap in production to where it is a lateral move at best.

Kessel is a player than generates offense by himself and has top level playoff numbers. RNH hadn't hit 50 points since the 2014 season, this year is clearly an outlier for him. An 82 point pace vs 68 is not really that small either.

I do think that RNH has more value considering Kessels 8 team NTC. However, Kessel is still a much better player today and we'll see that soon when the playoffs start.

No he isnt Kessel is a downright liability in every facet there is a reason why a lot of hf pens want to dump him for someone who can play both ways. People dont like to use it since it can be skewed but his hilariously awful plus minus is telling about how he is this year. He is a power play specialist and no longer a top player at his position in any form of even strength. Teams are scoring more more often while Kessel on the ice than Kessel is creating scoring opportunities, he is a net negative in pretty much stat in regards to that. His flaws in his play are outweighing the few positives he had this season.

Saros isnt going anywhere. He is the future in goal for us. Rinne already needs to start no more than 50 games a year and that number will get lower in the coming two years
