He was already well over this pace if he had been given power play time last year, so I don't see why not. He's still young.

Danault is kind of a boring player but he’s a good center. He doesn’t have the scoring touch to hit 60 I don’t think.

If he does hit 60 he’ll legitimately be in consideration for the Selke...

Not a consistent 60 pt player, but he could hit that number a few times as long as you give him top 6 wingers and powerplay time.
He averaged 29 seconds on the pp per game last season, give him 2+ minutes per game (with a good pp unit), and he could score an extra 7 pts.

Don't see him hitting 60 unless he plays with an elite goal scorer and he's on the PP
He plays with Gallagher. Who finished 4th in goals at 5v5 last year. Despite playing like 150-300 minutes less than anyone arround him. It's the team PP strategy that's an issue.

Exactly. 5 on 5 is fine, PP needs work. I'd try :

1st unit :
Suzuki - Gallagher - Domi

Weber - Kotkaniemi (in the Markov role)

2nd unit :
Weal - Danault - Tatar
Petry - Drouin

Is it just me or do people forget we tried Danault on the PP more than once last year and like everything else it didn't work?

The best pp lineup last year was Armia-Danault-Weal-Weber-Drouin. That unit worked, albeit over a small sample size at the end of the year.

No and to be honest he doesn't need to. For him to get 60 pts, he needs to be on the PP and I'm not sure what he can bring on the PP.

He's an even strength player and that's valuable to us. Danault hitting 40-50 pts is more than enough.

I can see Danault having an outlier year where he spikes at 60 points, maybe in two/three seasons if he has a legit goal scorer on his wing. But aside from that anomaly, probably not. I'm happy settling for him becoming a solid and reliable 50-point player. For me, Danault went from zero to hero last season. Good player.

Sorry Gally is not elite. He's a very good player and he happens to score a good amount of goals but his best season is 54 points and most of em are garbage goals. You need guys like that but I wouldn't call him elite.

Maybe if Danault played with a guy like Ovi, Draisaitl, Tarasenko etc... Not that I'd play him there though.

I love Danault he’s from my hometown and I know him since his 10 years old but 60 pts is alote. If he’s used like last year, he will probably hit 50 pts again. He will be great when he will be used as our 3rd line Center
