The fact of the matter is that they lost to a team they had no business losing to.

While this is a thread dedicated to Preds players in the tourney Jones and Rinne did well. It is disappointing that team USA is out.

Can and should we be critical of this team I would say yes. Since it was or GM that put the team together and our new head coach at the helm and even an asst coach threw in. There were some talented player out there, the best well maybe not. That does not change the fact that the only game this team should have lost at this point was to Russia.

And from my point of view the Preds Org. TODAY let this country down. Like it or not our group built the team did not motivate the team to hold the lead against Latvia and were out classed today by a team they should have beat. SO Yeah the Preds players are representing well.

Alright....It's opened for now. Last warning. Let's keep this about the tourney and the players involved. No political stuff, no personal attacks, and nothing off topic. Next time, infractions, not warnings, will be handed out. Finally...use the report button instead of replying, if needed. "He/she said it first" won't work.

If there are any questions, PM me.

Thanks

Rinne has been Finland's mvp so far. Good to see him getting some good work in and playing so well. After him being away for so long, the best remedy for knocking some of the rust off is facing live rubber.

I was able to catch the 1st on NBC. Rinne and Ellis looked good. Salomaki was barely noticeable.

Salomaki threw some big hits in the corners, but aside from that I didn't see alot out of him today either.

Haven't seen every minute of every game for canada, but Ellis appeared to be our 2nd best dman behind Bieksa. The open ice was definitely his friend.

In the World championship section here, posters are naming their all star teams (3F, 2D, 1G). Jones has been on almost every list, Josi on most, and Rinne on a few. Nice to see Jones tearing it up.

Love to see other fanbases give our players some recognition. Well done to the Preds players. Jones killed it, and Rinne is looking great.

One poster said they can't wait to see what Smith will be like this year not under Trots. You and us both buddy. :handclap:

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe Poile was GM for the WC, just the Olympics.

Ekholm is quietly having a very good tournament too. Scored the GWG yesterday for Sweden.

Ah gotcha, I was going by the analyst on NBC sports. I heard they were both leading the team at different points, guess Johnny got ahead in that last game.

Nope, you were right! The IIHF site still hasn't updated the USA Team Stats. Jones finished with 11 points, and Gaudreau with 10. :yo:
