Early top 5:

1. Wright

3. Chesley
4. McGroarty
5. Savoie

I still have a lot of watching left to do, particularly in Europe, but as an NTDP guy I like what I've seen of us group so far.

Just for fun. Its too bad Bedard and Michkov are not qualified

It would be a very tough choice between the three (+ Wright) for number 1 imo

Unfortunately, I don't have much. He's one of the players I haven't watched yet. But he played in the SHL as a D-2, which doesn't happen too often, so that got him onto the HM's list on its own.

I'm probably too low on many OHL players, but its hard to remain high on players who aren't playing when others are playing well. I've only seen those two kids play at the YOG, and neither were standouts there. I think there will be a large correction for OHL players, both with 2022 lists and also with how we view where 2021 players should've went, once we see a bigger sample of these OHL prospects that lost a full season.

Nazar, I don't find him as dynamic as he'd need to be for him to be much higher, considering he's small and not a great skater. But I also am probably about as low as anyone will be on Nazar. Others will list him higher.

I'd have Wright #1. Bedard #2, and Michkov #3. Center over Winger. I think thats the biggest difference with the first two ahead of Michkov, although I also find that Michkov skates the worst of the three. Wright over Bedard because Wright has good size already. Bedard might not be much bigger than Jack Hughes, which could cause him to move off the position eventually. He has time though, so it's too early to know. For now though, I'm taking Wright over the other two.

Wright and Bedard shots are pretty ridiculous. Will only become more lethal

Michkov is more "darty" and better puck handler in tight imo.

Wright is bigger than the two small dynamos. So I agree he has the edge

I don't even know the names besides like top 5. At least it should be more easier to get footage of these guys for this draft.

I basically have some idea of order right now in top 3: 1. Wright, 2. Savoie, 3. Lambert.

Slafkovsky i have heard being mentioned couple of times but I am not really sure about him yet. Of course, some names ring a bell with GM sims I've played but that's about it :P

After that, I really don't have clue about names I should be even looking for yet. Well, gotta start researching when season is closer to start. Right now preseason in NHL & trades there are kinda more interesting.

Don't know a whole lot of names, but I just remember watching Russia at the U18s and being really impressed by Yurov, Miroshnichenko, and Koromyslov from that group. Kemmel for Finland as well I was highly impressed with, even more so than Lambert IIRC. Can't wait to see more out of a lot of these guys. Wright looked like an obvious #1 as well.

Oh, Joakim Kemel was the one that was surprisingly fun to watch as a fellow Fin. I think he played like in second or third line center? Not sure about him as first round pick just yet but he is a name that needs to be looked up more. Maybe similar to Koivunen/Tuomaala pick range this year. I am also kinda high on Lambert but he has some selfishness issues sometimes that may drop him. Not sure if it is because he does not trust others or it's just about lacking vision/iq. Everything else in Lambert's game is pretty damn good.

Michkov's edge work is on another level comparing to other two, and in tight situations in opponents zone it's more important, than speed and dynamics. They used to say Kaprizov was an average skater. When he came to the NHL though, everything changed, and now he's a great skater. Michkov skates even better, than Kaprizov.

I don't know what the experts say. If you want to be considered a great skater in my book, it's very hard to be one without great top-end speed. I think Michkov needs to improve that area of his game significantly. I am skeptical of all these smaller wingers without that, as I mentioned above about Nazar.
