Pokemon Go thread #4

I’m having some Adventure Sync issues.

usually works great for me. A normal day at work, I walk between 7-11km. Today, different story. It says I’ve only walked 0.4km. I checked the Health App, I checked my Activity on my Apple Watch and it says I’ve walked 9km today. I made sure it was on. I signed out of Pokemon go and back in...nothing seems to be working. Any ideas?

I've heard with the Adventure Sync with the Health App it delays quite a bit before actually counting the steps.

I wonder how people on here are with the topic of Spoofing. Did a Heatran raid with 4 people in the car the other day in a deserted local park, and the raid lobby was packed with 20 people. (I don't have an opinion on spoofing - doesn't affect my gameplay).

On that note regarding Heatran, it is so much harder to catch than Virizion.

It’s usually not too bad, but all my Km caught up at night time. It sucked because an egg hatched and 4km went to waste, but whatever.

As for spoofing, I don’t have an issue with it. It ruins the fun for me, which is why I don’t, but if a spoofer wants to help with a raid or help you obtain regionals...thank you :)

I've had that happen before, typically keep my phone at my desk and just have my watch count the steps for me - and it doesn't come until AFTER a long period of waiting. So an egg will hatch but then my extra KM that I gained went to no use. :thumbd:

I've seen some people really get upset over spoofing where it's considered cheating, but many players that I know have multi-accounts which is against their TOS (which I think is worse anyway but that's me)

Question, what's the appraisal rating? Why can I have a pokemon with 3 stars for attack but it has a quick attack of 5.

my son got me to play this, but I never really battled before. Now I have all these balloons to fight.

Getting my first (and favorite) legendary shiny today, Rayquaza is as good a reason as any to jump back into the game. Can't wait til Froakie can be shiny. Love shiny Greninja.

Followed up my lucky streak with a shiny caterpie outside my hotel. Needed a couple more caterpies to get it to a Butterfree.

Was also glad to find out I didn't have to be level 40 to transfer to Home. That's what made me stop last time. Still at level 34.

Spent the morning on the April fool's event. Unlocking and beating Giovanni was a pain in the ass. Shadow Zapdos is neat though

Is anyone doing the All In One quest line? It’s from the Kanto Weekend thing that was $15+.

I’m on stage 2. Catch 151 different Pokémon, and catch 30 of every Pokémon types. I’m at 150 unique Pokémon, but still need 25+ dragon, ice and dark Pokémon

Dragon/Ice/Dark have taken the longest. Purrloin is spawning a bunch for April 1, so you should be able to knock that off if you're able to grind today. I tried using a glacial lure yesterday, but only got an additional 5 ice types from the 30 minutes. I've been doing Mega Abomasnow raids with my free daily raid pass. I think Snover is a Level 1 raid as well.

I did a bunch of Rayquaza raids last weekend to finish off the dragon task. Got my first legendary shundo.

My friend's kid could probably use more friends/XP, I'll see if he wants me to post his friend code.

Lot of Dark available right now. Keep an eye out for any "3 Excellent Throws in a row" and "Battle in Go Battle League" field requests. Those yield dragon and ice. Also a good number of Ice Grunts around, though Dragon grunts are quite rare.

edit: Swinub is nesting right now

Pain.

Since I've gotten back into the game I dug up my go-tcha (knock off but better pokemon go plus accessory) and set it to autocatch pokemon for my Friday night outing at a bar district with a ton of spawns and stops (it autospins stops too) so I could make some progress without looking at a game while out with friends. Also worth mentioning that the autocatch is essentially throw one base poke ball and if it doesn't catch on the first try, the pokemon runs away. You can't set it to catch with great or ultra balls. Also it's rare that the device catches anything above 400cp so it's really just an afk stardust/candy farmer.

So just as I parked near the bar I saw a Dragonite spawn near me and I scrambled to turn the go-tcha off but the device picked the Dragonite as its target and made a catch attempt. Which it failed. I didn't even get to see if it was a usable CP or not. Outside a Gible it was the best wild spawn I've seen since getting back into the game and my stupid autocatcher ruined it.

Played this a bit too much during this event. 2x hatch candy 1/2 hatch time with a 97% togetic in my box was too tempting. Ended up with four shinies (Buneary, Marill, exeggcute, piplup) and a 100% Fennekin that I had to use every silver pinap and stardust I had to max out.

Pretty productive time all in all. Lol and lost 6 pounds doing it.

I used to be a staunch catch-only player, but the increase in the friends limit has me gift sending constantly. It’s now the main reason why I play the game lol. Ever since I got a new job in the city, I’m able to load up constantly and just send them out.

I wish there was a faster way in hatching eggs. I always hatch absolute garbage. Its a ridiculous ‘gambling’ mechanism lol. There are people in my local Messanger/Discord chats that play this game as if it’s their job. They are constantly either encountering shinies or hatching them. Absolutely ridiculous.

If I have one gripe though, it’s the Go Battle League. I always play on WIFI, and yet there’s always a lagging issue. Someone was able to pull off 3 Hydro Cannons in a row with Swampert.

Friends bought me this awhile back: https://www.amazon.com/USvictory-Compatible-Cellphone-Pedometer-Accessories/dp/B08VNG2H4X/

Although it doesn't seem to work with my new phone. I hadn't been using it much lately since there really haven't been anything good in eggs. Tried to caution my friend's kid from spending on coins on incubators but he's certain he'll get a shiny Deino from a 12km.

Also Gible was announced for Community Day on June 6th. Was just about to spend the 40k stardust to get one from a friend but I'll wait a month.

Lol been going crazy dumping my rare candies into my lucky Garchomp to max it out. Wish I knew this was coming. But more than one Garchomp wouldn't be a bad thing.

:eek::eek::eek: yikes. Good luck with him on that shiny hunting.

I used to love hatching eggs, but they are hardly every worth it. Especially when you ‘grind’ all that time and it turns out to be a worthless two-star

Took a slight break as it's gotten blisteringly hot but I played around the casinos for this community day.

Got a 97 IV shiny Gible and a 100% that sadly had a very middling CP so I couldn't max it with my stardust. Had a handful of 90+ IV Gibles close to max CP and about 1000 candy so I have a solid group of them now.

Got one more 88% IV shiny Gible but I'm saving the rest of my candy to max out my Hundo. Three of my top CP mons will be Garchomps when that's done.

Also the 97% shiny is my best IV shiny today. One stat off the shundo but I'm not upset.

Hit level 40 around January of 2018, then took a looooong break from this game right around the time PvP was introduced. Just got back into it in late May (just in time for Gible community day thankfully) and have been grinding nonstop since. Up to level 46 now, need another 6 million or so XP to hit level 47. Remote raiding has completely changed the game. I wish I had started playing again during the pandemic. The increased stop/gym distance was amazing but unfortunately that just got reverted back to pre-pandemic levels. The ability to just show up at a local raid and be able to instantly grab 5 remote raiders from a discord server or reddit is awesome. No longer have to deal with locals and waiting for people to show up to raids in person. Haven't really dabbled much in the Go Battle League yet but I plan on doing so

Go Battle league is among the worst implemented PvP modes I've ever come across. Personally don't think it is worth investing time into.
