Where is Gary Neville now by the way? Doesn’t seem to be so vocal at the moment

If security does their job it never happens, whether supporters want it to or not. This is a massive failure by the police and Old Trafford security.

There's literally thousands of people outside OT. Thinking some extra police would stop this is laughably naive.

Stadiums are fundamentally not built or designed to repel coordinated attempts to breach the premises by hundreds or thousands of people.

That doesn't mean security gets a pass for everything, but it's not just a simple "well have a few more security guards and it's fine" thing.

When you *know* thousands of people are protesting outside a stadium, you plan accordingly. In your head, this was some tactical maneuver breaching the stadium like Patton was leading the charge. It's a bunch of drunk Mancunians waving scarves.

Laughably naive is thinking ten 65-year-old stewards playing "security" in between games of mahjong and seven police officers ought to do the trick. And if the initial reporting that they made it in through an open gate, that's even more pathetic.

Preventing a building that is not open to the general public from being invaded is not something private security is reasonably capable of, especially when the private security for that building is only trained to deal with the occasional streaker or person trying to sneak in without a ticket. Yes there should have been more security presence, but the biggest failing seemed to be the absolute lack of anything resembling a police presence.

If several hundred fans decide they want to invade a stadium/pitch, it's going to happen short of a US style militarized police response. It's really that simple.

What a bunch of frauds you all are.

“super league is gross, these owners are scum. They’re ruining the game. The fans get screwed”

/fans illegally invade a building preventing a match from being played

“this is OUTRAGEOUS, you should forfeit”

fixed that for you

They should cancel the game so it hits Manchester United and Liverpool in the only place that counts, the club finances.

Newcastle should be safe at this point but Fulham does have an easier run of games leading up to the final day. Would love for that final game to be a 'win and stay up' scenario.

Yes that’s the point. You think any owners are going to feeel uncomfortable bc people say mean things about them on Twitter?

everyone was high and mighty about the SL and fans and taking back their clubs. It’s gonna be ugly to do so.
So you agree that the game should be cancelled as that is the only true consequence to the owners?

I'm sure Blender had the same words when some Chelsea fans wanted to block the Chelsea bus from entering and that Chelsea management sent Petr Cech to calm things down...

The game got delayed by like 10 minutes and no one breached the stadium. The crowd essentially left when the announcement came out that the SuperLeague decision was being reversed by the club.
