In fairness, if several hundred people try to storm a building, there's not much police can do to stop them aside from starting to shoot people.
I mean, it's a stadium. We've evolved gate technology. Perhaps with a bike lock attached?

It's one thing controlling people once they're already inside, but keeping them out should be a pretty simple task. This was 3 hours before kickoff, it's not like entry for spectators was already in progress (not to mention there are none today).

Yeah, I'd be surprised if the game went forward at this point. These dudes are such chavs, it's hilarious. Milling around the pitch with a beer in their hands.

If security does their job it never happens, whether supporters want it to or not. This is a massive failure by the police and Old Trafford security.
